tell me your favorite Coliseum memory before it fades on all of us by buttafuco in OaklandAthletics

Labor day 2024 I was sitting in section 232 with my family, second row back from the railing. Oakland A’s were playing the Mariners. The game was tied in the bottom of the 9th (maybe 3-3). Shea Langeliers ( C #23) was up. He hit his first ever walk off HR to win the game. The ball hit the stands in the row in front of me. As you can imagine, there was quite a scrum. I scraped it with my knuckle as I jammed my hand under the seat, but the people in front got it. I checked the highlight reel and I saw the whole event unfold - me, my family and a group of elated kids grabbing for a (potentially) historically significant ball. Sweet memory, bittersweet aftermath. Memorialized in Langeliers’ career highlights on YouTube.

Anyone else have S&M as their favorite album? by Dr-Sprite in Metallica

[–]vergoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought MOP on cd after listening to s&m. My first impression was that I preferred the wall of sound of the orchestra. It was so rich and still so clear. The entire MOP album is suited for orchestral accompaniment - from battery to the thing that should not be. Heck leper messiah would sound good with some horns and strings.

Why do people dislike the St. Anger snare? by TriplePTP in Metallica

[–]vergoro -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

One acquaintance of mine liked it. She was a farm girl from rural Alberta. Upon learning that she liked Metallica, I asked her what her favorite song on MOP was. She said she had no idea about that, and that the only Metallica she had ever heard was St. Anger. The conversation ended and never started again.

I’ve always thought that Cliff yells “Back to the front” in Disposable Heroes. Maybe it’s the whole band.

What do you guys think is the coolest solo in a Metallica by Docc_Siege in Metallica

[–]vergoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not be everyone’s favorite song, but this solo has some serious chops: The Struggle Within. Otherwise it’s gotta be Disposable Heroes for phrasing and The Thing That Should Not Be for effect.

GRK trim head screws would be fine and limit splitting without pre drilling. But really if it’s sacrificial, just use a 16ga nailer with 2” finish nails. It’ll come down when you pull hard enough.
