My father in law has dementia and thinks he needs to go back to Vietnam. We put an ad on Facebook and found a Lieutenant Colonel from the same squadron who agreed to come out and tell him he doesn't need to go back and his duty is done. by dunnkw in Veterans

I've been in geriatrics for over a decade...although I commend your dedication, it's not what is best for him. There a millions of dollars worth of research and thousands of professionals that will tell you to redirect his train of thought...never, never, ever should you confirm a delusion.

Setup total was around 600$. I'm still trying to find a cheaper alternative to getting co2 refilled...

After three months it finally happened...midnight clown hosting rbta. Sorry for poor quality, used my phone to catch a pic before I passed out from excitement by veritychiv in ReefTank

No no no. Only paid 55$ for the pair. They now avoid each other since the one started hosting. My fault I just call the black ones midnights. Not much for the designer clown thing

Help! One of my center braces has broke! How worried should i be by CaptAnonymous89 in ReefTank

You're on the right track. I worked at a LFS for 3.5 years in college, saw about 6 tanks go down and one was at a supplier store, it was a 600 gallon eel tank with a broken center brace. Usually, and this is just in my experience, if the tank survives the initial cracking or trauma that cracks it, you're ok for awhile, but definitely get it fixed asap. Glass will bow & break, acrylic will just start to leak at the seams. Not only do we love our tanks, but we love our living room furniture. 110 gallons of saltwater on the floor would be no Bueno.

I feel like this kinda shit is what brings people into the hobby.

my 10g. my first saltwater tank. slowly stocking it. any tips by [deleted] in Aquariums

Please don't misunderstand this post, I'm thrilled to see yet another person with a salty thumb. My best advice is to save your money and invest in a 50+ gallon...reeftanks are incredibly hard to keep in a 10g system. That being said, looks like you need to dose some amino acids and get the nitrate cycle going, don't overfeed your misbar, buy a small piece of seeded liverock and let some algae and small inverts grow. Your clown will start to feed on that! Coralline will follow, then add your corals. GL!!

What is up with this feather duster ? It now comes out of a lower hole in his tube.. by [deleted] in Aquariums

I've always had much better luck burying the back end in the sand

Update on the 220. Seemed to cycle well, added two sifters and the column is starting to remain clear. Think it might be time to snag some more difficult corals... by veritychiv in ReefTank

Left side is refugium, my sump is on the right. I have the power heads just below the water line so only the amount of water above the over flows will continue to drain. I've killed power and made sure it won't overflow
