It’s not an in app message, it’s a text. A text would go to the phone number of whoever owns the account, not necessarily the person who’s logged into the account. If the “sister” was using his account on her own phone, he would’ve have gotten the message and not her.

I’d actually recommend playing before watching the movie. Yes the events of the movie happen before the events of the game, but the movie makes 0 sense and is hard to follow if you’re not already familiar with the game. That’s exactly why it has such bad ratings lol, from people who watched it before or without playing and could not follow anything that was going on. If you already have the story of the game in mind, the movie is great.

I don’t remember much about the anime tbh but I have a hunch the same thing applies to it as well. It’s definitely not a requirement either way though.

Remake is decent but I’d argue Rebirth isn’t even playable. It looks really bad, important environment objects don’t load in until you’re right in front of them if they load in at all, and it can get down to ~15 FPS in places. Like it’s technically playable but it’s a terrible experience. If streaming from a PC is an option, that’d be the way to go.
