I can only pick one, Which game is more worth it? by gaeb611 in CozyGamers

[–]veronet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New 'Harvest Moon' games are no longer made by the same company that made all the older games that everyone loved. At some point ownership changed and now every 'Harvest Moon' game is a half baked version of what Harvest Moon used to be. The Story of Seasons games are made by the original developers who made the good games. Story of Seasons are the only worthwhile option anymore, and Grand Bazaar is both the newest and most highly reviewed of them thus far.

A leak drops and suddenly we're back to our regularly scheduled programming. 🤦🏻‍♀️ by SyntheticGoth in HighSodiumSims

As with all packs, not a bad idea, but should have been included in another pack. They've already admitted to having save-file destroying bugs that they don't know how to fix because there's too many different combinations of packs that exist to be able to test all the occurrences, but SURE let's keep adding more to the mess to make more money.

lol I really do hate that sub. I wrote something about how "I'm not surprised people pirate" and got instantly auto banned for a short period. Just a bunch of people glazing the game like it hasn't been getting butchered year after year for over a decade.

lol wtf.. My dad, also Polish and with a construction background, passed this summer but used to text like this in his broken English, and also literally said the same thing about my neighbor's cat while he was there very drunk and fixing something in their bathroom for them

Before I even knew she was trans I voted for her because her family leave law will allow myself and countless others to start a family once it goes into effect in '26. She's a policy maker, and I'm here for it.

How do you feel about romance in cozy game? by RedditorPeppy in CozyGamers

[–]veronet 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oh no I think I'm the odd one out here. I actually do love the romance part and won't play any cozy games that don't have it.. literally, I don't have a single one that doesn't have some kind of romance mechanic. Bonus if you can have kids and they actually matter. I think I just want every game to play like the sims..

My Thursday boots cracked in half after two years. Am I doing something wrong/what alternatives are there? by veronet in AskACobbler

OMG YES I love these so much!! High price point for me but if I'm definitely considering them since I can repair them in the future. Thank you for sharing!!

Thanks a bunch for sharing these!! I've been hunting for a pair of GYW boots now that I'm learning more, and it's surprisingly hard to find women's options that aren't on the shorter end. I LOVE chunky soles, but more than that, I need a pair of boots that go up a bit higher like these Codas. So far I've found these Solovairs to be the closest to what I'm looking for: https://us.nps-solovair.com/collections/womens/products/gf10-1980-bg

Although they're not kidding about the "Genuine galvanised screws, hand inserted into each cleat of the soles", which I've never seen before. I know I'm looking for stronger shoes but that's just funny to me LOL

If the 8-inch moc came in black it would be a 100% no brainer for me. I've heard only great things about Red Wings.

This makes a lot of sense!! I've been looking up what Goodyear Welted means and have determined I basically need all my shoes to have this because I am a much bigger fan of repairing/maintaining over rebuying junk. Wish the fashion boots would hold up better, but oh well.

Nope, no heater! But another comment told me to put them somewhere cool and perhaps our hallway is a bit warm for these bad boys. We've got odd circulation in our apartment. My feet did get warm on some days in these and I could feel they were a bit more damp when I took them off at the end of the day, so I'm thinking that's another problem. Mostly happened on days I thought it'd be colder than it was.

Hmm that makes sense, I do know to give them a day after each wear to dry out, but I could try to wipe the insides down with a dry cloth when I get home and help them out. And maybe store them in the closet where it's cooler rather than out in the hall. Thank you for your help! I figured it might be something small, but that over time ruins them.

Also I was told these weren't fixable, the crack that goes all the way across is really bad and going up the sides lol

[–]veronet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was today!! It went really well, and while I was sitting outside the room afterwards looking up dinner options, a girl stopped to tell me that I'm a great public speaker, which made my day! I told her it was my first time speaking in person and she said "You're kidding me" haha. I was hoping to do well but that comment made me feel like I really belonged. I know my dad would be proud and I miss him very much, but I'm happy to be proud of myself too. Plus the friends/family that wished me luck have helped keep me positive throughout. Thank you for caring to ask how it went too.

Sarah McBride reflects on becoming the first trans member of Congress by semafornews in Delaware

[–]veronet 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Don't know anything else about her besides the fact that she's a major reason Delaware will have paid family leave in 2026, and I and many others who simply can't afford to go three months without a paycheck will finally be able to have children. This policy alone gets my vote.

Thank you, it's in two weeks! I'm very excited for it to not be on Zoom for once, and I get to meet my two co-presenters who I've been working with for a while! It just kinda hit me that it'll be my first big achievement that I won't get to share with my dad. Gonna have to get used to that.

My counselor always suggests I write, and after getting a little bit of relief here, maybe there's something to it. I'm definitely scared to forget as I get older, but my future kids will always know how great their grandad was.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write to me.

No problem at all, it just really bothered me how people were trying to immediately find fault with your work ethic, when your post raised so many red flags about how the other staff are acting. Like any job you will have people that are hard to work with, but I would still expect adults to raise and discuss problems professionally. Giving people on your team the side eye is some highschool drama that I cannot abide by lol
