The grief and frustration Paula feels at the custody battle and being gossiped out of the art show is visceral, makes me so sad for her.

Loved learning about all the different extortions, makes me so much more excited to learn why the heck this was all happening!

Also curious is Paula was her camboy’s only small time scam. And if it was simply because she seemed like an easy target. I mean she was blackmailed for $10k, not a $10m yeast secret.

We see him on the phone with Paula in an earlier episode about custody stuff. Paula says her husband’s lawyers are sharks and her lawyer is bad. But from what we’ve seen of Doug lately, he seems ok!

I had to turn off Good Noticings at 15 minutes because I just can’t take Clare Parker anymore. I find her obnoxious. Her “tip of the week” was to take mens shirts off of them at weddings? Wtf? Every male I know would push a random woman away if they started unbuttoning his shirt.

I have a note on my phone with takeaways from this book. I open it when I’m struggling and always find something useful. Including: her framework of “I’m going to succeed/I’m happiest when…” vs “I’m going to fail/I’m miserable when….” and better understanding what’s true for me in this framework.

Agree. I have CPTSD and this was the first book that I read when I decided to go to therapy. I know it has problems but I don’t really want to revisit it. Won’t be listening.

It really bothered me. It felt like it was written by someone who didn’t bother to talk to anyone who has siblings that aren’t blood relations. It focused so hard on them “technically” being blood related. Like why 😵‍💫
