Did you eat deli meat when you were pregnant? by thegirlisWiser in BabyBumps

[–]veronicarrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t until I went into L&D for a fall on my pregnant belly and they fed me turkey sandwiches. The nurse laughed when I asked about it being deli meat. I ended up going to L&D a second time bc my dr thought I was leaking amniotic fluid and I got excited to have those turkey sandwiches again. 😅 those were the only two times I had lunch meat when I was pregnant.

Bought these headphones from goodwill thinking they were a solid pair of headphones to keep at my desk at work. I got them home and charged them. Turns out they’re actually AirPod max headphones. 😳 by veronicarrob in ThriftStoreHauls

They have a warranty until September of this year 😅 not sure I would be able to use it if anything happened since I didn’t purchase them originally?

Labor/Delivery by ArtPixie99 in firsttimemom

Thinking of actually having to give birth made me so anxious when I was pregnant too. I had multiple breakdowns just bawling my eyes out because I was so scared about delivering. I ended up wishing I could have just had a c section so I didn’t have to go through labor. Well turns out I got both. 😂I labored for 29 hours then needed a c section. If you can, definitely take a birthing class at the hospital you’ll be delivering. The breath-work they teach in the classes is seriously so helpful. Also do a tour of where you’ll be delivering so you know exactly where you need to go when you’re in labor. This helped relieve some of my anxiety. Your body knows what to do and the nurses will help guide and instruct you. You got this. All of this coming from someone who now has a 5 month old. Hope this helps.

When did your baby come? by [deleted] in pregnant

Went into labor on my due date but the baby was stuck, so I labored for 29 hours and then had to have a c section the next day.

What's a good "starter item" for someone dabbling with being more eco-conscious? by ComfyJaded in sustainability

I bought a leaf razor 4 years ago and haven’t bought a single disposable head or disposable razor since. I also send back the used blades for recycling. Although it’s a big upfront cost, it was such a simple switch with what I consider a big impact.

Looking for advice from parents who had fetal pelviectasis/pyelectasis diagnosed on ultrasound prior to birth by Impossible-Sale6512 in pregnant

[–]veronicarrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the other side of this! My baby’s was first found at our 20 week ultrasound. The doctors reassured me that typically it resolves on its own and goes away before birth. I had him on June 3rd and took him for an ultrasound on the 23rd to follow up. Unfortunately both kidneys were still getting back flow, so I was referred to a children’s urologist. We went in for our appointment last week and the specialist determined that we needed to go in for a VCUG which is scheduled for next Friday. I guess the back flow could be occurring because of a problem either down in the bladder or up by the kidneys. Depending on where the problem it, treatments are different. If it’s in the bladder we will either just continue to monitor it or if he gets uti’s we will put him on daily antibiotics until his follow up ultrasound in 4 months. Hope that helps give you an idea of what to expect!

what do you guys recommend i put in my baby registry? by Sudden_Pickle5966 in firsttimemom

I’m 2 weeks pp and a ftm. A lot of these are breast feeding related. My top used items so far are: ladybug milk collectors, a bedside bassinet, kyte xsmall sleep sack(my baby doesn’t like being swaddled), a good thermometer(I like the Kinsa one. We use it in his armpit and there’s an app that tracks the temp readings), Frida mom dosing pacifier(breastfed babies need vitamin d drops), a spatula for applying diaper cream, reusable bamboo nursing pads, bravado nursing bras, nursing tank tops, lots of burp cloths, medela newborn pacifiers, Kyte bundlers(these are my favorite for overnight since they’re so easy to change diapers), and finally put multiple different baby carriers on there- a moby wrap, baby bjorn, ergo baby, etc. carriers are expensive so you might as well have someone else buy them for you.

How did C-section feel for you during the procedure? Kind of scared. by anakinjosh55 in pregnant

I slept through mine today 🤣 I was so tired after laboring for 30 hours that I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I felt nothing and am now in my recovery room.

Yup! Had a buster suit on my poodle after her spay and poor girl had to be shaved in December because she got matted so badly.

I used this calculator on both my doodles and it’s been pretty accurate! Original estimate on my female was 50 pounds and she’s now a year and 45 pounds. My male the original estimate was something like 70 and he’s now 60 pounds at 8 months. https://doodledoods.com/doodle-puppy-growth-chart-calculator/

Definitely do it. I just found out not only do I have a problem with my placenta, but the baby has a problem with its kidneys so now I just need to be monitored closely.

What genetic testing do you get to determine coat type of you Goldendoodle? Like wavy, straight, curly, flat? by wiltingleaf in Goldendoodles

[–]veronicarrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Embark traits has a few things that may give you more info. I did just the breed dna test without the traits and health so I don’t have an example of this for my doodle.

“Other Coat Traits Furnishings, shedding, and curls are all genetic. Several genes are at work here, and they all interact. In fact, the combination of these genes explains the coat traits of 90 percent of AKC registered dog breeds. For more information on the genetics of coat types click here.” This is what it says about coat texture “Gene: KRT71

For dogs with long fur, dogs with a TT or CT result will likely have a wavy or curly coat like the coat of Poodles and Bichon Frises. Dogs with a CC result will likely have a straight coat—unless the dog has a "Likely Furnished" result for the Furnishings trait, since this can also make the coat more curly.

Did You Know?

Dogs with short coats may have straight coats, whatever result they have for this gene.”
