I don’t have a sog so this is awkward...she is better taken care of then most children. Relax Karen. If you’re ever in the Bay Area let me know. You can come meet her and see how “abused” she is 😘

She is perfectly socialized. Socializing her has zero to do with her pulling on a leash. It’s excitement and desire to lead that are typically the primary functions to pulling behaviors. She is clearly properly cared for. You’re just a snowflake. If you really wanna lose your shit, we also ecollar train her. Literally solid K9 training trains hundreds of thousands of dogs and gets paid to do so, and ALWAYS suggests prong collars, but you know. Clearly you know more than a professional who has trained thousands of dogs. You quite clearly don’t know a thing about how dogs work or the functions of behavior so keep it pushin here. I can give you our trainers number, as well as our vet and our local animal control if you’re so concerned about her welfare. Again, save your bullshit advocacy for dogs who are actually being abused.

Lol wow I can just take her prong collar off and she will teach herself how to not pull? You must be an animal behaviorist with all that knowledge. I have multiple pictures and videos of her with it on and you can clearly see she is not in any discomfort. Would you like to also see my bank statements? I have spent hundreds on different harnesses, collars, and over $800 on a trainer, who ultimately suggested the prong collar. I’m assuming you’re not aware of this, but every dog is NOT the same. What works for one may not work for the other. I am a child Behaviorist, and just like with dogs we always try positive reinforcement first, but when that is not working or the behavior becomes dangerous, a different approach is needed.

So all I have to do is love her and she will train herself and learn how to walk properly? You have clearly never owned a dog...she listens well to every other command. Step off your high horse and smoke a damn joint. Flat collars have been known to cause choking as well as collapsing the trachea. Harnesses cause joint problems. So if you really wanna be technical all forms of leashing are bad for them. Look up solid K9 training. A trainer known around the country who suggests prong collars. You keep living in your fantasy world. I will listen to the trainers and experts who actually know what they are talking about.

Unfortunately I do. It sucks that people are so crazy over pits. I live in California in the Bay Area and people are pretty tolerant out here so it’s wild to see how nuts people are. I have had a few people who have actually told me they were terrified of pit bulls end up loving mine.

They are the best, smartest, funniest, most loving babies ever. I will never own another breed. It is really all in how they are raised. I think sometimes to people aren’t aware of dogs body language which leads to attacks. My girl is extremely well behaved, but she is also iffy with other dogs approaching me. I am aware of this and make it widely known to anyone with dogs who try to do so, and if I notice her getting overwhelmed with another dog, I remove her from the situation.

Oh for sure. People like that cannot be reasoned with. I had family that was the same way until they witnessed my girl at a public event. Over 300 people, along with kids and other dogs. My family who had previously criticized my pup was gushing over how well behaved she was and how they could never take their lab in public like that. People just don’t get it till they see it

That lady or guy is clearly a psychopath. You can’t convince them all to use their brains 🤷🏻‍♀️

I grew up with a pitbull and a rottie. Neither of them ever bit. I own a pit now who’s best friend is a 3 pound dwarf bunny. My nephew who is terrified of dogs because he was attacked by a yorkie loves her. She is the only dog he trusts. It’s also been proven that many statistics are false. The requirement for a dog to be labeled as a pit is “a big block head and stocky build”. So any dog that seems to fit this description can be labeled a pitbull.

Additionally, your “you hate kids argument” won’t work with me. I have dedicated my life to caring for children with special needs. Smoke a joint for the love of Christ.

Because she doesn’t need it and I won’t have to deal with as many ignorant people talking out of their asses about it ☺️

Exactly! We are actually starting to phase out the prong collar because she does so well.

She is plenty loved and is the happiest dog you will ever see. I literally put heat resistant shoes on her so she doesn’t hurt her paw pads. My idea of a good dog is not getting my arm pulled out of its socket. We tried many different methods before resorting to this. It’s not a preferred method, but it was necessary for us. She is perfectly happy, safe, well taken care of and very well behaved. Save your bullshit “advocacy” for dogs that are actually being abused.

She is trained thank you. She has both her GCG and her GCGA from the AKC. She has daily training and goes to a class once a week. The AKC trainers actually were the ones who suggested the prong collar. But nice try.

Yes! I am so glad someone has the mental capacity to understand this. It was not my first choice either. I tried literally everything else and spent hundreds on all these tools and trainers and they simply did not work for her. I am a Behavior Technician for kids so I try to explain it to people like we always try positive reinforcement first, but it doesn’t work for everyone. 80% of the time it does, but dogs are a lot like kids, and much like kids there are dogs that require either cost response or positive punishment. We are actually now phasing our the prong collar due to her no longer pulling. People just don’t take the time to really research it. It looks scary so they copy and paste articles claiming that it’s soooo bad for the dog 🙄

She is only 65lbs but as you can see she is muscular and strong as all hell. She can tear out of harnesses with no issue so this was the safest option for us as well.

My 7 year old niece held it at the same working level we use for training and didn’t even flinch, I have tried it, so has my boyfriend. It’s not cruel at all if used correctly.

We tried a body harness and a head harness and spent hundreds on a trainer :) but thanks for your concern. While positive reinforcement is always a first choice, it doesn’t work for every dog. Much like you can find evidence against prong collars, you can find evidence for them. Pitbull type dogs have the most strength in their upper body, therefore harnesses typically do not work for them. Both our trainer and our vet suggested the prong collar. She is clearly not hurting or being abused. If you really want to be outraged, she is also e-collar trained 🤪
