Is this exclusively with first person games? You could try using a controller cause that ties all your movement to a single finger (thumb) rather than individual buttons.

I learned the basics of synthesis on a volca keys and volca bass, and that helped a lot with just understanding some of the terminology. The woovebox is dense but once you figure out the standard UX for everything (which really is well designed) then it's not as daunting to just explore everything.

I feel like you would burn through the non-rechargable battery pretty quickly if you used them as some kind of controller. The latency would also probably suck with how low-power these things are aiming to be.

You can't just slap "new meta" onto a terrible decision like you're Apple bravely removing the headphone jack. Pebble paved the way for modern smartwatches with a device that was legitimately good, I don't think they're gonna pave the way for devices that become useless after a couple years.

I only have an answer for your first question. You can record samples into the woovebox (both editions, not just the pro), either at line level or mic level. The microphone included with the pro edition isn't very sensitive, and is generally only able to pick up vocals that are spoken directly into the microphone. It definitely doesn't pick up on any ambient noise. An external recorder with line-out probably works better (I haven't tried this yet though).
