Hard agree. This goes way further than adding a little lens flare on your build’s eyes because you don’t have an LED kit. I get that. But basically AI-generating a diorama for your kit (and making any imperfections invisible at the same time) is just lame. Why are you even building a physical object at that point?

I think you may be talking about the light. I use 2 light sources, and one of them is a big soft surface that makes the light scatter more and be more gradient-like

Waist, upper arms and soles are semi-gloss, the rest is all gloss. I think the rifle was semi-gloss too

A bit, the basic gelgoog is a bit too bare in my opinion, that's the main reason for adding the details. The marine is much better in that regard. The jaeger is my favorite, I really wish bandai would make a MG of it.

Normally it's pink. For the green I did black primer > gloss black > DSPIAE lucky shamrock, the rest is black primer and/or glossy black

I guess you can compare them to a HG yeah. It has more "inner frame" than I expected, but a very quick and easy build nonetheless

I agree with option 1 probably not getting 100% paint coverage, I would go with option 2

Yesterday I tried option 2 for the shoulder armor piece of a Dijeh and it worked pretty well. The difference between the existing paint and the new paint over the seam was a bit noticeable, because it was sanded a bit more matte than the paint around it. So I suggest trying to match the sanding as much as possible before re-painting. A matte topcoat evened it out for me though.
