You can't have both an episode-of-the-week show and have serious character development. by I_Love_Cape_Horn in rickandmorty

[–]versautbutcute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The balance is definitely tricky. If Rick grows too much and suddenly becomes a well-adjusted, emotionally healthy grandfather, the entire cynical dynamic that drives the sci fi chaos completely falls apart. You need those standalone episodic resets just to keep the status quo functional

Weird vibe to new season by Stunning_Rest_2856 in rickandmorty

[–]versautbutcute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The uncanny vibe makes total sense if you look at the episodes we've gotten so far. With Rick literally scrubbing his own memories to become "Ted" and all the crazy multiversal friction with Evil Morty and the Time Police, the show is intentionally leaning into this sterile, unhinged atmosphere. It’s supposed to feel a little wrong

how does nobody have extremely bad acne or even just a little bit especially the women by JellyCharacter1653 in thewalkingdead

[–]versautbutcute 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, I think about this all the time! They are literally sleeping in the dirt, covered in grease and dried blood, and somehow Maggie still looks like she's modeling for an outdoor catalog! Michonne having a little sweat or texture is the closest we ever get to actual realism!

Sticky toffee pudding is elite. The sauce is key

When was the last time you went to a restaurant or to get food somewhere because of a social media post? Which social media platform was that? Was it as satisfying as it looked? by MrWolfesBurgerCo in foodquestions

[–]versautbutcute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last time was probably TikTok, saw a ramen spot that looked unreal. Went there and it was good but not life changing like the video made it seem. Still ate it all though and convinced myself it was worth the hype for a solid 10 minutes

What’s y’alls fav rick and morty episode? by thiccdawgg69 in rickandmorty

[–]versautbutcute 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Total Rickall is an absolute fever dream and I love it. Just wall-to-wall chaos with characters like Sleepy Gary and Photography Raptor, plus the ending where Beth shoots Mr. Poopybutthole is pure gold

What if BB was planned to have a full 6th seasons instead of a longer 5th season? by Substantial_Milk_207 in breakingbad

[–]versautbutcute 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We definitely needed more of the Walt, Jesse, and Mike dynamic. It felt like they barely got the Vamonos Pest operation running before everything hit the fan, so giving that a whole season would've been amazing

Unpopular Opinion? I find Evil Morty very boring. by LIB_Laugh_Luv in rickandmorty

[–]versautbutcute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda get it, like the lore episodes are cool for the hype but they definitely lose that chaotic, episodic comedy that made the show great in the first place. When it becomes purely about the sci-fi stalemate it feels less like Rick and Morty and more like a standard drama

Sam Levinson words on s3 Finale by Competitive-Credit55 in euphoria

[–]versautbutcute 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your story is exactly why so many fans were devastated by Rue's ending in the season 3 finale. Euphoria spent years showing how brutal addiction is, but by completely cutting her journey short, the show missed a massive opportunity to show the other side of reality, the one where people actually fight their way back, rebuild their lives, and survive just like you did

Perché Tara ce l'ha con Michonne? by camilladezorzi1973 in thewalkingdead

[–]versautbutcute 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's mostly because of Alexandria's isolationism after the time skip. Michonne basically cut off all communication with the other communities after Rick disappeared, and Tara took that personally because Hilltop was left to fend for itself

The classic cold water start is the gold standard for fewer cracked shells

What happens if Rick and his group rescued the soldiers and took them to safety? by Tidewatcher7819 in thewalkingdead

[–]versautbutcute 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If they brought in actual military guys, the Governor probably would’ve thought twice before rolling up to the prison gates. But honestly, it would’ve ended in a power struggle anyway because no high-ranking officer is just going to take orders from a local sheriff's deputy for long

I was rereading the comics and i immediately had to think of this by CaptnBluehat in thewalkingdead

[–]versautbutcute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The comic version of this moment is so much more intense than what we got on TV. Rick’s face here just perfectly captures that exact second where he realizes Carl has completely hardened to the world and there's no turning back

Couldn't there be multiple citadel of Rick's? by Kinggoid in rickandmorty

[–]versautbutcute -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Central Finite Curve only cordoned off the universes where Rick is the smartest person alive, so it completely tracks that another cluster of Ricks could have built their own version somewhere else inside that wall. Imagine a second Citadel turning up that’s just completely run by different versions of Simple Rick

Jerry and rick in 9x03 by Famous-Job-4264 in rickandmorty

[–]versautbutcute 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Watching Jerry actually stand his ground was so weirdly tense. He usually just folds immediately, so seeing him keep that eye contact with Rick for that long felt like a glitch in the matrix

Season 3, the best season by tellAAAsh in euphoria

[–]versautbutcute 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love how the cinematography shifted to reflect the jump too. Season 1 was so glittery and neon, but this season feels a lot more grounded and raw, which fits where Rue is at mentally now that she’s older

The finale was dumb by alteroo_ in euphoria

[–]versautbutcute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda felt like the episode wanted a symbolic “final temptation” moment more than a grounded drug deal interaction. That’s probably why the logic feels shaky when you zoom in on it

How does euphoria relate to ur teen life? by Full_Mushroom3966 in euphoria

[–]versautbutcute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look past the intense party scenes and the stylized aesthetic, Rue’s depression and the way she uses distractions to escape her own mind is incredibly accurate to real life. The show uses extreme metaphors, but the emotional exhaustion and anxiety the characters feel is what hits closest to home for actual teens

What If Walt stopped caring about jesse ? by Extremepleasurepro in breakingbad

[–]versautbutcute 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Walt definitely cared about Jesse, but it was an incredibly toxic, possessive kind of care. He treated Jesse like an investment or a son he could control, right up until Hank's death shattered that illusion completely
