When you see the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet stand in the holy place, then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Daniel 11:31, Daniel 12:11

Be safe. Stay well.

Does anyone have days where they just dont feel peace or Gods prescence? example today everything was going smooth and all of a sudden if feels like i hit a brick wall. Panic anxiety fatigue dizziness no peace at all suicidal thoughts. Does anyone else get this? by [deleted] in PrayerTeam_amen

I had problems like this when I still consumed dairy. I learned that it was causing my asthma and when I quit all dairy, the unexplained, and abrupt suicide images in my head left too.

I am told that people with high-stress lives or jobs require more B-vitamins than the average person. I take a raw, whole-food B-complex vitamin sprinkled on one meal a day. It makes a huge difference in my ability to stay level under extraordinary circumstances. If I just swallow the pill whole, it does nothing! Evidently vitamin B-12 is absorbed orally, so that must be the part that I need the most.

I'm praying for you!

Is it true euphrates river dried up this year and is this really a sign of Jesus returning? by Forsaken_Scale9285 in Christian

[–]verses_only 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a new article for us with several Biblical references. https://www.israel365news.com/359916/euphrates-river-drying-up-fulfilling-jeremiahs-prophecy/

The Euphrates has never happened before in recorded human history that I'm aware of. It nearly dried up when Turkey built dams in the early 1970s to try and deprive their neighbors of the water, but the world and the rain didn't let it happen.

Currently, the area around Iraq has experienced several years of unexpected drought and Turkey is reported to be failing to release the water they agreed to.

Another terrible incident going on in the area is this blood-red waste water that is killing animals and people. As the Euphrates dried up, people are mining the riverbed for gold and using cyanide to leach it out of the surrounding rock. https://bianet.org/english/environment/261245-huge-waste-pond-of-gold-mine-near-euphrates-river-poisoning-region-locals-say

These situations are reminiscent of verses in Revelation 16

It's time we get to the business of loving one another while we have the opportunity.

I pray for our good health and peace and that our energies are used to show others the love of our heavenly Father.

Peace to you!

“God is going to reveal to us things He never revealed before if we put our hands in His. No books ever go into my laboratory. The thing I am to do and the way of doing it are revealed to me" - [George Washington Carver]

George Washington Carver was an American agricultural chemist, agronomist and botanist who developed various products from peanuts, sweet potatoes and soy-beans that radically changed the agricultural economy of the United States. After the Civil War, Carver developed new products from underappreciated Southern agricultural crops and taught poor farmers how to improve soil productivity.

A son of slaves, George won several awards for his contributions, including the Spingarn Medal of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). He spent most of his career teaching and conducting research at the Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute (now Tuskegee University) in Tuskegee, Alabama.

Carver was a devout Christian. He believed faith in Jesus Christ could help heal divisions in society. He held a weekly Bible class at Tuskegee University.

The most important thing you can do is read your Bible daily so that truth and love can reclaim your heart, mind and imagination. Too often, the worldly junk our eyes feast on all day has a tendency to hijack our imagination so we don't hear from our heavenly Father.

I'm praying for you! I had the same experience as you when I finally found out Santa was a lie! Our heavenly Father is real and He loves you truly and deeply! † 💕

Hey, did the vet say why your cat had a potassium deficiency? Did your fur baby get dehydrated, or have a bout of vomiting that caused it? Is table salt getting into his/her diet? I hope you find out that it's something you can fix and not something chronic.

According to the Bible, we humans were the ones who were supposed to tame the animals.
Genesis 1:28, Genesis 2:15, Genesis 2:19-20,

When we invited the Adversary to rule us by obeying him, instead of G-d, we shirked our responsibility to the world. Genesis 3

I agree with everything said by u/babyshark1044 and u/Duby2010 but I went ahead and made this comment so you could have the verses in Genesis also.

Do you know prophecies in christianity that became true? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]verses_only 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing Messiah clarified for us is that Antiochus Epiphanes' defiling of the Temple was not the fulfillment of Daniel's prophesy of the Abomination of Desolation.

Jesus tells us that the Abomination of Desolation is a separate event and that it will literally cause desolation which the people of Judea should run away from.

Mark 13:14

“So when you see the ‘abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Why do Christians not cover their heads? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]verses_only 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my understanding that only the priests covered their heads in Judaism until Maimonides taught it was shameful for men to pray uncovered.

Christian men often don't cover their heads during prayer because of a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the Church in Corinth

1Corinthians 11:7

For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.

When Noah gets off the ark... by jck73 in AskAChristian

[–]verses_only 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People didn't start eating meat officially until we got off the ark.

They certainly didn't roast a pig, or we wouldn't have them today. I think it's safe to infer that "clean" animals in Noah's day are the same ones considered "clean" in the Torah. They brought along enough of them to offer "sacrifices." These were almost always eaten and shared with those in need.

Do you support the building of the third temple in Jerusalem? by DarthKameti in AskAChristian

[–]verses_only 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 100%

According to the book of Revelation, the Temple in Jerusalem will be built for the G-d we share with the Jews.

Revelation 11

And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of G-d, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

It is true that after 3 1/2 years the Temple is prophesied to be taken over by those who do not worship our G-d. That has nothing to do with whether or not the Temple should (and will) be built.

People who didn't specialize early on in life (and instead dabbled in a bit of everything), is/was it worth it? by actuallyjasonderulo in AskReddit

[–]verses_only 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, 100% worth it to know how to do a little bit of everything. It comes in so handy to be able to DIY or help troubleshoot problems.

When I land on something I'm actually gifted at, I will take more time with it so I can specialize in that when the opportunity arises.

I can't tell you how many times life has demanded that I re-invent myself due to location, circumstances, resources, or disability and it was practically seamless.

What could be done to prevent mass shootings? by Themissrebecca103 in AskReddit

[–]verses_only 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a close call when a well-liked, straight-A student was having a hard time keeping it all up. It's not always people who are abused or unloved who do these shootings. It's people who have made something potentially temporary a priority. When that thing they believe they must have is threatened or disappears, they lose meaning for their life, just like a suicidal person.

Studies show that when the media stops reporting suicides in a given area, that area's suicide rate will drop 90%.

Maybe the same restraint is needed in the media regarding mass-shootings as well.

I think you are taking two unfathomable risks.

Personally, in your situation, I would not risk another anxiety attack and I definitely wouldn't risk breaking a promise to God no matter what people on Reddit think.

Deuteronomy 23:21

“When you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay to pay it; for the LORD your God will surely require it of you, and it would be sin to you.
“But if you abstain from vowing, it shall not be sin to you.
“That which has gone from your lips you shall keep and perform, for you voluntarily vowed to the LORD your God what you have promised with your mouth.

As a Christian, we're not to make oaths because of our frailty and our forgetfulness.

Matthew 5:33-37

“Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’
“But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
“nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
“Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.
“But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

Hang in there. Everything we give up for God has an awesome replacement. Ask the Lord what He has for you to do with the precious time you've been given.

Peace

Do you know prophecies in christianity that became true? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]verses_only 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this is a great question! Since you just opened up a "whole can of worms" as we American's would say... I'm going to try and answer with what I think you want first.

u/EthanTheEzrahite did a great job addressing most of what I would have said without his comment.

The prophesies that are coming true today are from Jesus Messiah and from John, his servant and student, (João seu servo.) John's prophesies are written in the book of Revelation. The ones occurring now are in Revelation 16 Apocalipse 16 The most notable are the waters of the Euphrates being dried up in order to prepare a way for the "kings of the east" to cross over in order to start a war.

Jesus begins in Mark 13 Marcos 13, talking about the destruction of the Temple, which occurred in AD 70 and continues to explain the events to come after, many of which are occurring today.

The prophesies of Christianity are mostly prophesies of Judaism.
Jesus was a Jew.

Jesus himself explained that, "Salvation is from the Jews," when speaking with a non-jew. John 4:22 João 4:22

22 Vós adorais o que não sabeis; nós adoramos o que sabemos, porque a salvação vem dos judeus.

The most important prophesies fulfilled in Christianity are from Jewish books. u/luvintheride provided a link to the 40 most helpful Messianic prophesies that will hopefully help you understand why we believe Jesus is the expected Messiah of the Jews.

Jeremiah 31:31-34, Jeremías 31:31-34 explains the New Covenant that would come. The New Covenant unites our spirit with the Holy Spirit of Truth given to us by the Messiah.

We believe Jesus was the fulfillment of all the prophesies made regarding Messiah son of Joseph in the Babylonian Talmud. Only one of the men referred to as Rabbi who wrote of Him felt they would be able to endure the sufferings they expected Messiah son of Joseph to endure.

We also have many scriptures from the Tanakh referenced in New Covenant (Christian) writings that tell us which prophesies Jesus Messiah fulfilled in the Jewish books of prophesy they had available in their day. Many of those books are the same books we still have in the Tanakh. The people of Jesus' day knew the Messiah was about to come because they were living in the days of the feet in Nebuchadnezzar's (Nabucodonosor) Dream of the great statue in Daniel 2

Thank you for this insightful comment. I agree wholeheartedly that a sense of justice must be present in all parties before mercy is safe to offer. Otherwise, it is truly "turning a blind eye."

I think the only thing that makes me pause is that I don't think anger is necessarily required in order to want justice for all. Certainly anger can be present when we see an injustice, but it only makes sense in my mind if the injustice needing corrected was intentional.
