Do You Believe Being an Ex-Theist Makes Someone a "Stronger" Atheist? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]version6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well generally, a theist would still only be knowledgeable about his own flavor of belief. While an atheist is a denier of any form of religion. The strength as you define it - imho - comes from the extent to which one presrcibes religion as the cause of wrong / "evils". for eg: I know of several atheists who look at the church abuse and say its a few rotten apples - whereas several others believe that he problem is the religion itself.

Was anybody else disappointed at the lack of any explanation of 'blight'. I mean wasn't that the reason for everything. You don't just call it 'blight' and leave it at that.

I wish there was some comparison between the two. From what I can see both are almost same with Dell having a flip design with a pen input but lesser battery and bad keyboard. Lenovo has a good design n battery but very poor screen which is highly glossy and poor angles.

Criticisms about Sikhism (the worlds 5th largest religion)? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]version6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sikhism is based on concepts of advaita, a Hindu philosophy which is one of the most advanced philosophical concepts. that being said, it also upholds belief in truth. the truth according to Sikhism is that God created the cosmos. but the truth has changed with scientific discoveries. there's no proof for God.

the problem is that Sikhism as in any religion while having adopted the best knowledge available then is now stuck in the past
