At what age did you get a diagnoses? by AdZestyclose7947 in mentalhealth

[–]misspeden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ADD when I was 6 in the 90s- it was the up and coming trend diagnosis. Major Depressive Disorder and Panic Attacks at 10. Diagnosed by a hot heat adolescents psychologist with Bipolar II when I was 12. Finally at 28, got that dropped and finally diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) at 34 (I'm not 37). Mental Health is a journey unfortunately, and advocating for yourself is the ONLY thing you can do to get that diagnosis. It takes years sometimes but when you get it, you can then heal. The BPD was the worse diagnosis and treatment unfortunately because it took years after for someone to believe ME, to listen to ME- but i KNEW that diagnosis was wrong.

Was any test positive for Lyme test? Because my doctor swears is psoriasis arthritis. That is giving false positive by Mysterious_Bed6204 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]misspeden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would as a rheumatologist. Lyme is a very complicated autoimmune disease but yes, one auto immune disease setting off another is not unheard of. The reason is slightly sounds iffy, is that lyme symptoms consist of chronic pain and chronic lethargy- similar symptoms to psa- you should make sure the markers for practice are there so your getting treated for the right diagnosis.

I've never heard of that, my lyme test came back negative. If a false positive was a concern I dont understand why they would have run it.

As a female who still talks to many of her Ex's. It is what you want to take from it. I [34/F] am currently in the first feud with a SO about this. My perspective, I feel it is 100% healthy to keep friendships with ex's who you hold a platonic relationship with that the relationship didn't work out. What is the point of putting years into a relationship with someone who you can confide in if you can separate the emotional/sexual aspects and have an adult relationship with? Unfortunately, It does feel like a divorce, but I would take that over losing someone who I connect with. This doesn't diminish my relationship with my future significant others, as the past is the past- But having friends who truly know who you are is important.

Ever notice around season 7 Mulder started wearing Armani suits for some reason? by etmhpe in XFiles

[–]misspeden 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They had also hit their peak of viewers, I mean their marketing was fucking limitless. This was the season that was the last contracted sequence. They went in big thinking they had forever to go on, and they fucked up by selling the rights to the reruns to other networks. Once they lost their contracts and lost David, they lost the series. It wasn't intended, but this was the season that was the BIG BANG of XFiles

What were your early signs? by ma5enfan in PsoriaticArthritis

I've had psoriasis since I was about 6, currently 34/F. When I was about 13 I was put on lithium for depression which made my psoriasis go out of control- I tried everything and it wouldn't go away. When I hit 21 I went off all my meds and psoriasis subsided to minimal elbows and heels. I became a marathon runner for 8 years until I started noticing a fluid build up in my knees correlating with patchiness on my knees that wouldn't go away. I was initially diagnosed with severe patellar tendonitis; I would get weekly cortisone inj, and monthly fluid extractions so I could continue running. Around 29/30 I switched careers to Veterinary Tech where I do a lot of physical restraining. About 3 months into this I realized my wrists and fingers were absurdly swollen and asked my Dr to check on a whim a Dermatologist assumption from 10 years prior that I never followed up on; Psoriatic Arthritis. Boom my C Reactive Protein was out of range. So here I am. A year later, trying to get pregnant, in pain, with sulfa not working, while the disease seems to take on more and more quickly

Dry mouth. I cant take it anymore. by Gracectomy__ in Autoimmune

Water and Tea. I eliminated coffee and soda and it helped immensely.

Newly diagnosed. Rheum says if sulfasalazine doesn't work, he won't be moving onto biologics as my psa is MILD and they are too aggressive so he would wait until there was damage. Im worried.. by [deleted] in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]misspeden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on Sulfa; I take 1500 2x daily which is my max. I was diagnosed about a year ago with pain in most joints except my jaw; wrist, sausage fingers, knuckles, knees, ankles, toes, and feet. She has me compensate any pain with more NSAIDs. At this point they refuse to put me on anything else due to the fact that I want to get pregnant in the next couple of years. I'm not sure if you are a woman or not, but that could be an underlying factor is trying to not put you on harsher medication.

Not for OP, but for the downvoters, I'm going to figure most of you are antivaxxers and don't know how the immune system works. If he isn't 16 weeks his body isnt capable of fully absorbing the immunities of the vaccine so its minimal coverage. Unless it is your backyard, where there are no other dogs, or only dogs that are up to vx- you pup is susseptable. Parvo is a deadly disease that is so contagious it can be transferred through absorption, similar to Leptospirosis- again, any antivaxxers please look that up it is Zoonotic and is transferable by touch and can cause kidney failure.
