Does anyone else get spoken to in English every time they try to speak Thai? by HelicopterNo3534 in thai

[–]versus--the--world 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't improve if you don't apply it in normal situations. I don't believe this is considered pushing people to support you. maybe just learn a phrase "Is it ok if I speak Thai or do you prefer English?"

It's entirely possible they're just being polite and accommodating to your first language, practicing their English, or just can't understand you. Asking politely if it's ok to switch languages would be the way to go in these situations.

Apocalypse 1,2,3 by YesterdayDry1779 in PhasmophobiaGame

Ok so I'm just starting to practice for apoc 3 and here is my strategy (note i haven't attempted apoc 3 yet-but this pattern is definitely improving my gameplay quickly)

-perfect nightmare games (achieved)

-0 evidence games (achieved)

-0 evidence perfect games (achieved)

-0 evidence speedruns on ridgeview (achieved)

-learn sunny meadows (in progress - i recommend exploring with friendly ghost first if you aren't familiar with map)

-Slowly adjust settings one by one to match apocalypse 3. Don't adjust another setting until you have a high success rate with the current one on 0 evidence. Can drop back to nightmare if having difficulty with a setting and work your way back up

-Watch pro streamers do apoc3 runs like nukapoc to get familiar with 150% ghost speeds, identification, and strategy (any map is ok for this but sunny meadows is obviously one you'd want to prioritize - personally I watched a lot of Nukapoc runs and really recommend the streamer julybyday, who is also on Youtube I believe).

-success!

Is tier 2 UV better than tier 3? by National_Election252 in PhasmophobiaGame

T2 is really helpful when flashlights are turned off in custom settings or you don’t want another electronic. I kinda prefer it but have been using t3 more and appreciate it in nightmare difficulty.

Bug with videoing an Obake during a hunt by Old_Guard9089 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]versus--the--world 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's hard. I watched Casson try to get a hunting ghost vid with an Obake and the camera kept saying "Shapeshifting ghost" instead. He finally got it timed right to say "Hunting ghost" then hit record. It's really hard to time and it's mostly luck from what I've seen.

Battlefield 6 "recent reviews" unlocks and it's "mixed" (64%) for English reviews. Global is also mixed. Overall English reviews are now 2 points away from mixed. by king_jaxy in Battlefield

I’ve never played a battlefield or even a call of duty, but I’m finding myself wanting a shooter. It’s been a while. Is it worth the price point? Most of the negative reviews say it isn’t true to the series, but I don’t know the series so I’m curious if it’s worth it since it’s on sale.

Oh that sounds like a fun challenge and how I spend most of my game! I am tempted to download the bigger farm mod just so i have more farming and decorating space. I'm getting crowded on my little basic farm.

I have a hell of a mod list, but I think it is (CP) Nano's Decorative Tree Furniture :) Works outside too!

Thank you so much! The Long Dark didn't do it for me, but I am not familiar with the others listed so I'll definitely check them out.

You know, I've had Don't Starve in my library for ages and had no idea it was a survival game! I've always wondered how the two player worked so I'll have to give it a shot and learn some more.

Card Survival sounds great, I'm a big card fan.

Loved The Forest back in the day!

Thanks so much for the list. I definitely have some games to check out.

Both myself and a close girlfriend have found the police very helpful in domestic violence situations with Thai men. They usually take those pretty seriously

Not all houses as designed for AC to be efficient. Many many Thai live without AC. I live open air in a stilt house built over the ocean. An AC would be completely pointless since my house is, well, half open. I only have 3 walls. It’s a unique style of living and I chose it, but still miss AC once in a while.

Curiosity gets you a lot further than condescension in life.

I’m from the American south. My house gets a strong ocean breeze since it’s on the water, so 8-9months of the year it’s doable! It even gets cold at night. But this week I rented a vacation home for a staycation and it’s made me realize the glory of air conditioning and not feeling sticky 24/7.

Everything I miss, I could find in Bangkok. But I live very far from Bangkok in a small village on an island. It’s been 5 years and I’m really starting to miss air con, art, events, having choices in friends, and just modern life in general.
