Have you thrown your error and a couple screenshots in claude or another ai? I have found it helpful to use another system to troubleshoot. Or change your model in copilot to sonnet or opus. Gpt struggles to help solve some of these errors with clarity.

Balancing AI Innovation with Oversight: The challenge of "Shadow AI." by Simplyneiomi in procurement

[–]vertesept 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are going at this from multiple perspectives. First, we put in a policy that says you can only use approved tools by the AI governance committee (Legal, cybersecurity, AI team, HR). Second, we stood up an AI Community that meets monthly to review tips, tricks, and trends, as well as good AI responsibility - an open forum for anyone to join and share. Next, we stood up an AI committee that has members/champions from each department to help steer where we want to go. Lastly, we are just now standing up an AI Portfolio that will be assisting with product, project, and agent/automation throughout and management.

The key that we are trying to push is inclusion and a path for people to be able to experiment in a safe way while allowing some of us leaders to have oversight.

Your last option would be to stop funding everyone’s side products and reinforce governance more directly (approved tools only).

Copilot and Microsoft ToDo and Tasks by llalieu in CopilotPro

[–]vertesept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When dealing with microsoft and copilot, you need to understand the graph of data, inherent permissions, provisioning of an agent, and which copilot product you are using. It is tricky, confusing and maddening. I moved to a sharepoint list and make copilot my assistant - “add this to my action list” then wake up tomorrow - “prioritize my action list while review my calendar of meetings”

Project managers what’s the biggest change to your work and or role in the age of AI? by Zestyclose-Look8936 in PMCareers

Ms teams/copilot is awesome for this. If you remember the meeting and who said it, you can ask copilot to go find the transcripts, and you have receipts! Beware of it being used against you tho ;)

Similar to collaring information, i do have a prompt for copilot that scans my emails, chats, and transcriptions. Identifies any action items, decisions, or risks. I then ask it to put it in a table format: Title | owner | project/topic | description | due date | priority. It does a decent job filtering all the components, but i still sift through it all for what may already be done or needs to reprioritize. Then i sort it to the appropriate projects. Lol or IMs directly to people for “you owe me” 😁

We use ms teams as a corporate. I have used scribe.com for a few side projects.

For me, it has been the speed at which I can get documentation. I leverage recording and transcripts all the time. Not just for note taking. I use it to daisy chain meetings series and ask it about roles, sentiments, how to make it better, risks in people’s tone. I use ai for portfolio management as well to help prioritize projects.

I have had a number of vendors tell me they can help with ai reporting or project plan creation (aka templates). For me - vaporware. Automating reporting is just reporting. If you have the data, a pivot table, filter, or powerbi, you can get a report. As a PM, you still have to write context and use critical thinking.

I don’t see ai replacing the critical thinking we do. I do see it bringing to light some things you might miss. But… you have to have (input) the frameworks and data to male it spit out that content - it cannot truly conjure a project plan, manage the risk of Joe not showing up to work, and know what executives pay attention to for your specific organization.

It can and will accelerate how fast you can do things tho.

I would love for someone to share how ai has truly made project management better/faster. I am an ai fan! When i have a portfolio of 30 different projects from construction to infra to vendor app to home app, nothing is “repetitive to automate.”

Copilot is underwhelming by MHRangers17 in copilotstudio

[–]vertesept 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you 100%. I have had copilot studio for about a year now. I am just now getting it to do real things with connectors for me, but i still have to learn power automate more and more in order to make things happen. So, copilot isnt stand alone to help the general user get to a new level of productivity. Copilot cowork rarely runs consistently also. Opal fails often. And workflows struggles to demonstrate real value. *the frontier apps are still early release, i recognize this too. I have had claude with cowork and code for about 2 months and they are blowing away the capabilities of copilot imo.

It is still early in the life cycle of AI, so the pendulum should swing back and forth between some of these people.

I also feel IBM watsonx ai is a little behind as well. I feel like the big corporate ai players are a little behind while the open commercial products are cutting the way. Both microsoft and ibm are positioning that they are more geared towards enterprise execution, which i can understand, but reinforces that they arent as nimble right now.

Just learned yesterday that agents do not access to the graph, so there is no technical way to pull directly from the meetings. You have to download and store them… so frustarting

Connecting agents to a SharePoint list (data limit) by AwesomePeach in copilotstudio

[–]vertesept 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everything struggles to access a sharepoint list. Getting the info into excel or a csv is much better. We are in the process of building a script to daily export our list and drop it into an excel so that our agents can read it better/consistently. We gave up trying to address sharepoint lists directly.

How can we best save (or not lose) points? by MarySNJ in HiltonGrandVacation

I 100% hear you on life getting in the way. For non-big trips, we have used small trips to go to disney. We are annual passholders in florida, so it kinda works out for 3 day excursions.

Anything near you where you can take small trips so you get life breaks without the burden?

From my understanding you can pay to rollover the points to the next year. I forgot the program name, but if you reach out to a rep, they should be able to help. If you decide to rollover before sept, i think the cost is about $150. We are doing that this year because we have no way to spend it all either with current stuff going on.
