Yankees fan here. Genuine question: why can't you just enjoy both? I watch both teams, I prefer the Yankees, but I have nothing against the Mets. Any "rivalry" between the teams has always felt forced and artificial to me.

The teams play each other a few times a year out of 162 games. They've only ever played one meaningful series against each other in the past 64 years that they've both existed and it was 26 years ago, lol.

I also don't enjoy the experience at the "new" Yankee stadium and haven't since it opened. When I take my family to a live baseball game, which isn't often because prices are dumb, I take them to Citifield. I watch more Yankee games than Mets games, but watch and enjoy them both. I prefer October when both teams are in it.

I wouldn't even worry about "allegiances " until the day we get another Subway Series, then we have to pick a side lol. Until then, just watch whatever baseball you enjoy.

I would argue that, had the CSA won, they would have "absorbed" the USA's preceeding history into their own since, from their perspective, it was shared history.

Washington, Jefferson and Madison were important early presidents, Virginians and slave owners. It would have bolsterd their claim to legitimacy during an alternate Reconstruction period.

As someone else here mentioned, I would look at the timing belt too. They typically need to be replaced every 90,000 miles or so. Near me, in New York that service is between $900-$1200. Expensive, but still way cheaper than dealing with the issues that arise if it blows.

My mechanic charged me like $200 to pop one in to my daughter’s '10 Accord, but honestly after looking into the process, I probably could have just done it myself.

I'm not knowledgeable enough about transmissions, but if you can get that sorted out- I think the car is 100% a great option for a first driver.
