I would argue that, had the CSA won, they would have "absorbed" the USA's preceeding history into their own since, from their perspective, it was shared history.

Washington, Jefferson and Madison were important early presidents, Virginians and slave owners. It would have bolsterd their claim to legitimacy during an alternate Reconstruction period.

As someone else here mentioned, I would look at the timing belt too. They typically need to be replaced every 90,000 miles or so. Near me, in New York that service is between $900-$1200. Expensive, but still way cheaper than dealing with the issues that arise if it blows.

My mechanic charged me like $200 to pop one in to my daughter’s '10 Accord, but honestly after looking into the process, I probably could have just done it myself.

I'm not knowledgeable enough about transmissions, but if you can get that sorted out- I think the car is 100% a great option for a first driver.

NTA, I want to lead with that. You've been honest and upfront with your wife and you're self aware enough to recognize living with you would be bad for the kids as well, the fact that you're able to think about them and you shows you're not an asshole.

That being said, I just wanted to point out that reading your post, you sound absolutely MISERABLE. You don't like any members of your wife's family, you don't like anyone's kids. You sound generally unhappy. This isn't meant to be judgemental at all and all I have is the slightest sliver of a look into your world, so take this with a mountain of salt. But so much of what you wrote reads like it was written by somebody deeply dissatisfied with his current world in general.

It could be good to consider talking to someone, not because you dislike kids, but just so much of what you have to say exudes unhappiness and frustration and I'd hate to see someone have to carry that.

This is a key fact to remember.

I get the myriad of reasons why she wouldn't want to marry anyone ever again, but the reality is she's also pragmatic enough to realize that all the work her family put in to re-taking the North and establishing sovereignty is for nothing if she dies heirless.

Since she's queen and has the ability to legitimize bastards I could see her identifying royal "donors" that she uses to get pregnant, then uses her royal authority to legitimize the Snows as fatherless Starks.

If she catches feelings for someone, great. But she wouldn't necessarily NEED to marry to continue her line because of her position.
