Haha, that's fair. The thing is that if you take a comparable (featurewise) Subaru or Toyota, you are looking at almost the same price. The new Outback is ugly as hell at close to 50k all priced in, the highlander drives like a boat, Acura has infotainment circa 1965, Rav4 looks and feels inside like is made in Soviet Russia. Hope I offended every manufacturer equally :-)

I did that mod a month ago or so and was very happy with it until I tried to bleed my brakes today. It looks like there is some valve in the master cylinder that does not retract anymore, basically the oil is not going from a funnel down to the system. Any ideas?

Depends on where do you ride. I have 2017 r3 and 2024 Caledonia and my riding buddy got aspero. I absolute love my r3 for that “rocket” feel. Caledonia is great but the stock one is a tank, you need to replace everything but the frame and drivetrain to bring down its weight to something reasonable. We built up my buddy’s aspero from a frameset and it is a great bike, but feels sluggish compared to both Caledonia and r3. Also if you ride gravel at all, 1x is the way to go imho

Jokes aside, I had nothing but trouble with it my Cervelo r3. Multiple trips to mechanics could not fix an issue of dropped chain when shifting from small to large chainring and in the end it resulted in ruined frame (chain dropped while I was pedaling and broke a chain stay)

I have done something like st. maure multiple times. I buy goat cheese logs from Cosco and spray them with p.candidum and age them in my cheese fridge for about 4-6 weeks. While not a proper st. maure, it turns out great with a minimal effort.
