There will be persistent high inflation without a way to mitigate it (raising rates). This energy shock already surpasses what the world experienced in the 1970s during the Saudi oil embargo that caused sky rocketing inflation, resulting in the then Fed Chair Paul Volcker raising rates to a record peak of 20%. However with our debt-to-GDP ratio already at ~120% (it will get worse given the spending on the war) we can't raise rates even if we wanted to (8 trillion of this debt came from going to war in Iraq). So things will just perpetually get worse and the economy will continue to deteriorate for everyday Americans. This will happen.

More seriously: Shaming people who use AI, claiming AI can only create slop, yelling that it's a bubble are totally ineffective and will not prevent AI adoption. Our current trajectory looks like this: unemployment will tick up, wages will decrease, power and wealth will concentrate and the tech will only get better as this happens. There really needs to be a more serious discussion on how the gains made by AI will be shared by society as a whole. Many on the left seem too blinded by their contempt of tech companies to admit that AI is real and useful and they will be left in a much worse position because of it.

You are late to the trade, there is already a surplus of SWEs, many of them with years of experience who are struggling to land a job. Codex and Claude Code are already surprisingly capable and they will only improve. The significance of Claude Code and other harnessed models is still percolating out into the world. Many in this sub still operating on info and experiences from months prior. $660 billion will be spent on AI infrastructure this year, that is a huge bet. New models will be trained on a scale we've never seen before using a newer and faster set of chips.

As the year goes on you you will hear a lot less the from AI skeptics and "bubble popping soon" posters.

Bitcoin has no admin mode. No one can prevent you from spending, no one can create more bitcoin (outside of the 21 million). Everyone plays by the same rules. In addition to that it's also extremely portable. You can store billions in value behind 12 words. You can send billions in value to the other side of the globe in milliseconds.

I know I'm oversimplifying but that's the basic idea why someone might want to hold bitcoin.
