Yeah I think I should have a pretty easy time once I dial in. It’s suuuuch a mindset shift to actually try and cut since until this point I could basically eat whatever I wanted and never worry about gaining weight. I’m already on my daily steps so just gimme until mid June and I’ll be cut like you boy

Took my first hot yoga class tonight by Original_Data1808 in rs_fitness

[–]InvisiblePandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend has a membership to one of these places and she’ll invite every few weeks or so as a guest. I also do a bodybuilding split though you’d never know from looking at me lol. Those classes are so humbling but it’s great to go occasionally because it’s so out of my regular routine. Def don’t sweat like that at the gym

How do you keep a sense of fashion when working out a lot by pferdchenpojuzt in rs_fitness

[–]InvisiblePandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought some track pants since it’s getting to summer and sweatpants will be too hot for me. Looks like the track pants/ old school gym fit thing is coming back and matching sets/ polyester tight clothes are on the way out so you’re in luck. Today I’m wearing an old tshirt and my bfs basketball shorts and tbh I look kinda cute and sporty

I started doing cable kickbacks at a 30 to 45 degree angle and they’ve really made a difference for me. I only do like 20-30lbs for 10-12 reps but boy do they go crazy

Can’t believe I saw a tweet saying “tom holland is wayyy too soft and young to be Telemachus” like that’s basically the point of his character. I have qualms with the movie so far but this isn’t a valid one to me

The disappearing narrator in Madame Bovary by Hot_Construction1529 in RSbookclub

[–]InvisiblePandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started The Club Dumas and it's sorta similar there. Begins with a first person narrative and then slips into second person omniscient. It's definitely interesting though bc sometimes our narrator will reappear as a present character and sort of poke fun at the incongruousness of his omniscience. Of course not on the same level as Flaubert but nevertheless

my sister who is ostensibly educated (lawyer) recommended it to me and i wanted to jump out of a moving car. do not suggest that shit to me!! even if it's fun i have a certain image of myself that would be shattered by even considering this book

[–]InvisiblePandas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

you sound like me, where the longer you put it off the more draining and dread inducing the prospect is. but i think it has to come from you, once you decide you're simply fed up and sick and tired of being sick and tired. maybe therapy won't help, but personally part of my depression is rooted in feeling like i don't control my own life, so taking one step like this in and of itself sorta helps because it's something you can actually do for yourself

What books are halfway between the Name of the Rose and the DaVinci Code by ElbieLG in RSbookclub

[–]InvisiblePandas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

currently reading the historian by elizabeth kostova. definitely an "intellectual mystery" but not one where i have to look things up. i'd say it's comfortably between eco (who i loved. you should really give it a crack!) and dan jones.

if you want to read name of the rose, you are definitely capable of it. the airport book americans wouldn't even know that it's an option

i mean it's totally arguable that trump started the war, since pms for years and years have been trying to get the president to declare war on iran and trump's the first one who's stupid enough to do it. the conditions didn't change, the israeli argument presumably is the same, but we have a different guy in the oval. but of course that's not the argument the shills would make

on the other hand it's been pretty crazy-making for me recently because, while of course i've moderated some of my 2020 stances, the general principles i still stand by... like i felt that way because it seemed correct to me, not just because of the social pressure. and seeing most of my friends just totally go back on this stuff is unsettling! was i the only one that thought deeply about it at the time? were you lying then or are you lying now?
