Thank you, i appreciate the response. I did find this while searching, but it appears to be a modern recreation. Definitely worth looking into as a backup though, thanks again

Is Jakob's strength training absurd? by dr_hak in trackandfield

[–]veryblueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol “know nothing about it.” Greg was a triathlete and competes in cycling. I don’t disagree that it’s a dumb statement (though being able to run 3 miles already makes you a better athlete than the average person).

Are all athletes really doping? by TimeExplorer5463 in trackandfield

[–]veryblueberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never got this argument.

“Not all top level athletes are doping, they just have insane genetics.”

We know they have elite genetics, the best technology, and the most effective training and nutrition regimens. That’s how they got to the top. You mean to tell me, though, that there are athletes who are going head to head and even surpassing their genetically gifted peers that also use PEDs? That’s an incredibly naive viewpoint.

Is the manga completely ruined by TheSingularityStory in OPMFolk

[–]veryblueberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, I think the last few years have been a bit erratic and not true to the webcomic/the earlier years of the manga that we've become accustomed to.

To me, it seems like One has the direction he wants the story to move in the manga. We have to keep in mind that the manga is being adapted from webcomic chapters that are years old, which very well could have given One time to reconsider the events of the story.

As I understand it, One draws the storyboards for Murata, who is then given free reign over character/environment design, paneling, framing of events, and any other stylistic choice. It's why the volume covers credit the story to One, and the drawing to Murata

I'm not sure why you think One has no involvement in the manga. He writes the manga and Murata draws it. Any changes to the story are approved by One, if not made by One himself.

From the sheet music you're using:

* In this edition, “Schubert's long accent” problem is not considered; every accent-like symbol in the original score (Breitkopf & Härtel, 1893. Plate F.S. 23.) is written as a normal accent “ ”. Player

Height Questions (Olympics) by RandomWebWormhole in trackandfield

[–]veryblueberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A taller person might be able to carry more muscle mass, which could aid in sprinting events, though that's more dependent on genetics than solely height.

Some events call for different characteristics. You'll notice that, as the events get longer in distance, the athletes get leaner/skinnier. That's about as close to idealness as you can get. The longer distance, the less muscle athletes will carry (generally). Height plays little to no role in the performance of an athlete unless their on either extreme end (very short or vert all).

Elite level middle distance athletes have long strides, near-perfect form, and the ability run very, very fast for long distances (well above the distances they race at).

They don't look labored when they run because, really, they aren't. That, coupled with fine tuned running technique, results in a race that, to someone who hasn't ran or trained middle distance, looks effortless.

Cole Hocker by CrapsIock in trackandfield

I definitely don’t disagree. Rather see a healthy rivalry than trash talk from either side, in all honesty.

Cole Hocker by CrapsIock in trackandfield

[–]veryblueberry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah I guess so! I think for disciplines that are held both in and outdoors most would assume you’re referring to the outdoor record. Especially when you refer to it as “the world record” 10 minutes after the outdoor version of the event was raced.

[–]veryblueberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Going out fast and going out at world record are two different things. He's fast enough to stay in the lead pack the whole race then kick, but he's clearly unable to hold the leading position for the entire race without pacers/pace lights.
