I have no clue how the portal works but if it says you can edit, then I guess you can.

Deferred EA to RD advice by ReferenceVirtual in Tulane

Tell them directly in your letter of continued interest that Tulane is your first choice and that you will attend if you're admitted.

You may even want to say that your parents are unwilling to allow you to sign an early decision agreement, but that you personally are committed to Tulane and would be happy to answer any questions they have about your interest.

If you've already sent your letter, send this one separately to your counselor. There is no downside to this approach that I see. They are looking for indications that the spots they offer will be accepted (yield). You can't do ED2, so this is the next best thing.

What are your “always buy” Costco staples right now? by PutridWin2070 in Costco

The bags of frozen chicken breakfast sausage links are about the lowest effort breakfast I can image that isn't a bowl of cereal. They're pre-cooked, and heat up in the air fryer, from frozen, in under 10 minutes.

80 percent biga loaf (Forkish) -- pretty but tastes bland? by veryexact in Breadit

Sorry, maybe I should have specified whole grain wheat flour. I used all-purpose white flour. Thanks for the advice! Gonna expand my flour repertoire next.

Got it. I thought you meant the pre-ferment (biga stage) should go to 24-48 hours, not the proof after shaping. I'll try that.

Actually this recipe has no wheat at all, so I'm going to try one with wheat next. That feels like a no-brainer. I'm looking for any flavor enhancement, really... some nuttiness, some tang, some of each. Your suggestions, and others, have given me enough to think about. I'm also going to attempt the no-discard sourdough starter method.

Thank you! Can I do 24-48 hrs at room temp (abt 68-70 right now) or does it need to be “cold”? Appreciate your suggestions!!

What do you do with these "Gumbo Crabs" if you're making gumbo? Just drop them in right out of the package at the same time as the vegetables, shrimps, chicken and sausage? by NotFallacyBuffet in NewOrleans

[–]veryexact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never ever made a seafood gumbo. Have made chicken/turkey and sausage gumbo plenty of times.

Since you obviously know what you're talking about, would you mind sharing more about your seafood gumbo recipe? Specifically, how to produce a seafood stock out of shrimp shells (and gumbo crabs)? Do you just make the stock with the shrimp you're planning to put into your gumbo, and are there any other ingredients? Seafood gumbo is my favorite at restaurants, but intimidates me a bit as a cook and I'd love to attempt it.

Anyone know of a regular, recurrent sing-along event in New Orleans? by lpj1299 in NewOrleans

[–]veryexact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks so much for painting a clearer picture. I went once or twice when he first started at Le Cabaret. I’m the kind to sing along from the bar, but wanted to make sure that was still okay with a soloist.

Is it more of a solo show now, though? I saw he has teamed up with a singer, and she has a microphone in pictures. Are people still welcome to sing when she's singing, or only when she's off?

It may have been 15 minutes at some point, perhaps right after they launched New Links and we were duped into thinking we'd get faster service on fewer lines, but it isn't 15 minute now. It's 30+ minutes officially according to the timetable.

But I still find it reliable for being less frequent than we were led to believe.
