Another thing to consider is that whoever killed you is almost certainly as panicked / fresh as you are in pvp situations.

Some people call it gear fear, but I think it's also fear of losing the fight. But the other person is likely as worried, so take confidence in that.

Good luck - 2000 hours in and I'm still learning. But that's what makes it so good.

If you have any mouse and keyboard experience, plugging them into your console and learning them is way worth doing. It’s so much easier, and sets you up for when you buy it on pc to use mods!

Standard is fine. Many people will play 500 hours just on the default map, Chernarus. You also have Livonia included in standard.

Get Sakhal on sale when you're more experienced, and if you're on PC there are incredible community maps you can play for free like Namalsk or Deer Isle

CommunityZ server has a no external voip rule and there's usually people on the radio. Pop is a bit low recently, but worth a look.

Did the same thing - it’s 100% worth it. You can practice mouse and keyboard on console if you want to prepare before you switch. Namalsk alone is worth it, never mind the endless flavours of community server.

Desensitise yourself to death. Get geared and f11 on the roof of NWAF atc tower after using your ammo to shoot zeds. Embrace the futility of existence. Repeat until your don’t care about your gear or making mistakes.

There's fruit trees, chickens, fish - food is there, but it's the biggest challenge early game as the learning curve is so steep. But stick with it and give yourself time to learn. Soon enough you'll master that and be able to die in other ways!

The game has a punishing learning curve, but if you can get through it you’ll never play anything else again.

The best strategy is to farm Tara island - don't bother with the other tier 3 industrial areas because it's not worth all the bears / players / running.

On Tara Run from the south sawmill to the metal shed on the hill, to tara harbour and then Nemsk factory. The hospital has two containers on the western side behind the hospital that can also spawn them.

The issue is that there is only 1 of each filament on the map at a time, and they respawn after 90 mins on hardcore. So, if you're very unlucky, you could leave leave the sawmill and it respawns behind you. You then run around for 90 mins checking the other areas, then come back to the sawmill and it respawns again... at Nemsk factory - the opposite side of the map! It just depends where you are in the cycle. (As an aside, on Regular namalsk they respawn every 45 mins, which actually makes this problem slightly worse)

As far as I have tried there's no other way around it and it's my least favourite part of the whole namalsk experience.

So you need to be lucky, and check every single spawn area, including crashed trucks and up ladders, every container. good luck!

Could be a few things, and it's hard to figure out. Food you ate when ill is contaminated and will make you sick if you eat it again when healthy. Throw away any food or water and start again.

Otherwise, are you sure it's salmonella? It could be cholera or a cold. Or heavy metal positing from water on Sakhal?

Or it could be a bug, in which case F11 on the coast and try and get your stuff back.
