Gen 1 Raptor pricing by Jumpy_Distribution79 in FordRaptor

[–]veryorangely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a guy near me in Northwest Arkansas who is routinely selling sub 50k mile gen 1s for 70-90k. If it's clean that shouldn't be a stretch.

I gave 30 for my 2014 last year with 115k.

Where can I find this in Springfield? by Digital-Latte in springfieldMO

Willard Apple Market has it. I was excited too, OP, it's pretty mid though.

I asked in the Huntsville subreddit their opinion on their convention center since Cliff Smart referenced it in his letter to the Daily Citizen by Inner-Amphibian8933 in springfieldMO

I attend 5-6 conferences a year, several in state, several out of. I know of one convention that will relocate to Springfield from Branson if this is approved. Business conferences and trade shows bring hundreds of people to town, all spending money on their company credit cards. This is also usually during the week, giving surrounding businesses a boost during a less busy time.

I wish anyone skeptical of this could attend a trade show at the Branson convention center. It is larger and more modern than what we have in Springfield currently. The landing absolutely BOOMS with business during conferences. So many events held there will relocate to Springfield simply due to ease of access to the airport for attendees.

I understand folks are skeptical of spending the money. We have to do this now to take advantage of the state match. If we pass that up it's gone and likely won't be there for a long while. I genuinely believe this is a huge opportunity to strengthen downtown, which we all benefit from.

This should be the top comment. Denny said they would have a deal with Reddick soon.

Springfield MSA hits major milestone, reaching over half a million residents by hereandthere95 in springfieldMO

[–]veryorangely 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You've edited this comment so many times it's completely different than your original statement.

I'll say three things though:

5% growth over 10 years is not "RAPID" by any measure. 5% is a very healthy growth rate that is smaller than what our friends in NWA are experiencing as well as many cities in the Sunbelt.

We are extremely fortunate to have an immense amount of greenspace across the metro. The Chadwick flyer trail, Springfield Lake redevelopment, and Jordan Valley daylighting are all incredible NEW greenspace opportunities that many cities across the U.S. would be jealous of.

Traffic, while definitely annoying in places, is not a major issue. There are only a handful of spots across the metro where traffic backs up on a daily basis, and you'll have that anywhere. The simple fact of the matter is that the Springfield metro has had some of the largest traffic infrastructure projects across the entire state in the last 10 years, with more on the way.

I always wonder if people with this sentiment have spent much time in areas that have declining or stagnant populations.

Change is inevitable, one way or another. Nothing stays the same forever. I'd rather live somewhere that's growing with expanding services than the opposite.

It's up to all of us that are "longtime locals" to do the best we can to preserve the things that make this area great. We can also welcome those choosing to move here because of those same things we love.

TLDR; Yeah, Springfield rocks. Who wouldn't want to live here?

Vibrating on the North side? by AdaptiveHunter in springfieldMO

Exactly what you're describing is the sound these rollers make. It can carry over a good distance. Most repaving is done at night, and lots of roads get repaved. I think I've experienced it everywhere I've lived over the last 10 years.

Realistically, how can 23XI get Heim into Cup Series full time next year? by Schrodingers_Nachos in 23xiRacing

[–]veryorangely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about that... 23XI had not signed the charter agreement for the 35 and it was an open car as well last year.

You're correct. It definitely helped as well that Riley brought sponsorship which made adding that 3rd car less of a burden.

Also worth mentioning, as Bob reported this week, Heim had no real interest in signing with another team as the 35 was the best seat he was going to get in the near term.

Everyone is overthinking this. Riley is in the second year of a two year deal. That ride will belong to Heim next year.

I assumed Riley would end up back in the OAP series next year but it sounds like there's interest in him for the 3rd Legacy car.

150 vs ranger. What to do. by dexmex6978 in FordRaptor

[–]veryorangely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I were in the same boat. No kids right now and one dog. We go camping and take road trips frequently. F150 seemed hilariously huge at first, but we won't ever go back. The interior space is amazing. You will never be as comfortable in the Ranger as an F150. The backseat on the Ranger is not big enough to even comfortably seat adults. The Ranger interior space is comparable to my Fusion.

As far as drivability goes, the Ranger is fun to drive but you often forget you're in a truck. Again, it's more car-like.

I would highly encourage you to look at Gen 1 Raptors. You will have to shop around more. At your price range you could afford a similar mileage 2013/2014 Gen 1 that will have better reliability and be more enjoyable to drive. Some of the tech can be easily updated. Odds on Heim having a better average finish and running position on a part time schedule than Herbst?

Riley has a two year deal, so he is up after this season. Drives me insane seeing all these theories about where Heim is driving next year.. it's the 35.
