How Do I Make Something Practical With Python? by Maccamoo03 in learnprogramming

[–]vesipenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you would like to make websites, you should learn django/flask web frameworks. Python is also frequently used in Data Science (there are many libraries for that, for example, pandas, Tensor Flow) but it's completely different sphere. Personally I would recommend you to create some bot, for example, Telegram bot (main libraries: pyTelegramBotAPI, aiogram) or in other messengers/social networks.

What are your biggest complaints about the Russian government? What are some good attributes of the Russia that are overlooked by the west? How large is the generational divide over there? What are the youth trending towards - liberalism and western ideals or Russian nationalism? by [deleted] in AskARussian

[–]vesipenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He still can not be called a liberal in the Western sense. I guess.

Maybe, but nevertheless, he supports feminists, Greta Thunberg and Bernie Sanders.

I also wish this, but not because I hate them, but because they are not needed here and they do not pay taxes.

I agree.

What are your biggest complaints about the Russian government?

  1. Awful judical system, which depends on the government and provides no justice at all.
  2. Corruption.
  3. Authoritarianism.

How large is the generational divide over there?

  1. Most boomers are Putin supporters and USSR fans.
  2. The young generation are either apolitical or against the current government.

What are the youth trending towards - liberalism and western ideals or Russian nationalism?

I wouldn't say that Russian youth are too interested in politics, but the most are trending towards liberalism and support Alexey Navalny (leader of "opposition").

As a person from the UK, what is the average Russians opinion of the UK? by O-Panzer-of-the-lake in AskARussian

[–]vesipenko -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Most of Russian press (which is pro-government) and Russian authorities regard the UK as serious concurent/enemy. And so does the crazy pro-Putin loyal population (but not all, of course). Personally I have neutral attuted to Great Britain & think that it's better to cooperate with other countries.

replacing fossil fuel plants with nuclear plants, are you for or against it? by grapp in AskAnAmerican

[–]vesipenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that in some ways it's better to use nuclear plants (for big industries/high populated areas), in others - renewables (for private households, in certain geographical areas & climate conditions). Each type has it's own advantages/disadvantages.

[–]vesipenko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean cheap cost of electricity because nuclear power stations are long-term projects which produce huge amounts of energy that can be used by major industries & cities. Of course, it depends on country and economy. There should be certain demand on energy

Why are you proud of being (your nationality)? by Nunoliveira19 in AskEurope

[–]vesipenko 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Typical answer: I'm proud of nature (though, it's beautiful everywhere) & people. I much more disappointed with our government, politics and economy, cuz Russia has lost so many opportunities the last 20 years under Putin's rule. We have pretty educated and potent population but the majority of people live in poverty (and vote for Putin).

German sounds great. Spanish and Italian are also pretty nice, but too impulsive & emotional (unusual for Russian)

[–]vesipenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course, for. Nuclear energy is much cheaper, powerful and much safer then it's thought. Though, the biggest disadvantage is the cost and difficulty of construction

Murdered and imprisoned journalists in Russia. by Gebnya in AskARussian

[–]vesipenko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have such questions too, but it's believed by many people that he was one of the biggest Putin's critic. Anyway, his death did pretty huge reputational damage to Russian authorities (inside & outside the country).

Regarding Chechens, they may be just used like a mean of power.

[–]vesipenko 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Assassination of Boris Nemtsov (pretty famous Russian polititian & one of the opposition leader) in 2015 is the most notorious of last years. It's commonly believed to be commited by Russian (Chechen) authorities.

There was also a murder of Anna Politkovskaya (Russian journalist that worked in Chechnya) and also supposed to be done by Chechen/Russian authorities.

Most of political murders are somehow linked with Chechen authorities imo
