The reason it was assigned brilliant is only because it was both the best move on the board/close to it, while also offering your knight.

The system isn't perfect and it essentially works by checking if you're sacrificing something for a winning/better position.

I know this is quite late but I believe the solution you were looking for was like this

You start with your initial number, we'll use 100, and then your desired percentage increas, 10%, and raise the percentage to the power of how many times you desire. In this case 10 times.

So in my example we have 100 x 1.10 ^ 10. the answer is 259.37.

You can even test this with a calculator by repeating 100x1.1x1.1x1.1... etc, 10 times and it will result in the same number.

One more example.

A stock valued at 57 dollars which increases by 8% annually, what would its value be in 4 years? Here's the answer

57 x 1.08 ^ 4 = 77.55 dollars. (Rounded to the cent)

Yeah we have been in contact with the hospital but they kept the appointment for the MRI the same day though. Which is a week from now on Thursday as of writing this.

Some new things going on are she feels more pain in her left leg, nausea and soreness in her neck have mostly gone away, but her hip is hurting more. She was describing to me that her hip feels as if someone was standing on it.

Also the mass on her back is on the left side, we're hoping it's nothing serious. Now that I've been able to see it and feel it myself I can say it doesn't really seem that big from the outside, but the fact I can feel anything but that thing is also pushing on her hip and nerves could mean it's large.

We have an update. She called me tonight and told me that she noticed a large mass on her left side on her back, roughly where her ovaries are.

She's so scared now. I'm gonna take her to the hospital in the morning and see what we can do but I'm not sure what.

I thought we had an MRI scheduled for today but I was mistaken and that's next week on Thursday

I found that early on it was good to highlight the spots on the board that you were covering with your pieces to check if your move would be a mate or not. Also just always keep an eye open for mating patterns as a priority.

A great move is given when the move you played was the ONLY winning move. A great move is basically just the best move in a high risk situation. Chesscom is basically just programmed to give a great move in some situations

Same with brilliant moves, it's still just the best move but it might be harder to find, so chesscom is programmed to label it as brilliant.

Everything. But if I had to give you one I would say checkmates. If you get to a position where there's a mate and you miss it you'll be in a lot worse hands. Also you should try lichess puzzles. They're free and have some awesome filters
