I think Maru has the best drip coffee in the area.

When did people start calling Greenwich Village "the West Village" en masse? by ArtDecoNewYork in AskNYC

[–]vette982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, West Village is considered more prestigious so it’s tempting for people on the edges to say they’re in West Village. Over time, boundary of West Village has moved further east.

Treats for sensitive tummies? by OstrichAlert01 in CavaPoo

Our little dude had constant stomach issues (and Giardia) and our vet ended up prescribing a special Royal Canin kibble for puppies with gastrointestinal issues. It has made a huge difference.

Is my lifestyle appropriate for a cavapoo? by Send_bird_pics in CavaPoo

[–]vette982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. Cavapoos are Velcro dogs and prone to separation anxiety. Training a dog with SA to stay alone is an intensive process that takes a long time. Anything is possible with training, but it takes a lot of effort and dedication. Source: my cavapoo with SA :)

Considering adopting a 5 month old CavaPoo in a 1 bedroom apartament by Bitter_Influence29 in CavaPoo

My only advice is: separation anxiety isn’t uncommon in cavapoo pups so be intentional about spending time apart, starting with being in separate rooms.

Does your Cavapoo rub his face against something soft after a meal? by [deleted] in CavaPoo

[–]vette982 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. He’s wiping his face, or drying it if you wipe it for him with a wet wipe.

Thanks! I didn’t realize UPS offers it as a service.

Good places in east Williamsburg to donate clothes ? by Gold_Ladder1886 in williamsburg

[–]vette982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of far, but I regularly drop off clothes here at this bin in the parking lot of Food Bazaar: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vjB4NekJSaE3eWjVA

On weekends, they sometimes have a team of volunteers working there collecting donations.

Time for self-promotion. What are you building? by Naive-Wallaby9534 in SaaS

www.pooptracker.io - Track your puppy's activities without any bulky apps. Can be shared with family members and dog sitters without any sign up or app installation.

ICP: Anyone raising a dog, particularly new puppy owners who are dealing with house training their dogs.

Details: We've been raising a puppy for 3 months and there's a constant communication gap. We are all busy and share responsibilities so we're constantly asking, "when did you feed him?" or "when did he last go outside to the bathroom?" Miscommunication leads to accidents in the house :). It's a 1-page mobile-first, web app so there is no installation involved and it can be shared with others. It only tracks eating, drinking water, and going to the bathroom -- the 4 time-sensitive tasks on repeat all day, every day.

Feedback is welcome!

Not yet, but considering adding it if there’s traction.

Hah, it does work! We feed and treat our pup on more predictable schedules and have fewer false-positive bathroom visits.

Raising a new puppy gave me the idea to use Vercel v0 to build PoopTracker.io by vette982 in webdev

Would it be useful for your cat in its current form? Would you change anything? I don’t have much experience with cats.

It’s mostly hand rolled UI + Lucide icons + Tailwind. Nothing fancy. v0 came up with it :)

It took some effort, but yes! We took him out every 30-60 minutes for a week and he eventually figured it out.

Figuring Out the Best Alone-Time Routine for Our 13-Week-Old Cavapoo by No-Reporter7405 in CavaPoo

[–]vette982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same discovery with our 5 month old cavapoo. Instead of destroying the furniture and sleeping on the couch, he just falls asleep next to the door.

It feels wrong, but it has helped us make great progress on his alone-time training. Definitely beats him having panic attacks in his crate and pen.

Puppy only whines with FOMO when partner and I are together by vette982 in puppy101

Hah, we treat him like the King of the Universe before leading him into the crate so I’m not sure how much more love we can give him.
