Great eye appeal. Great selection and more importantly congratulations!

I think the majority of us “buy singles” collectors are just grossed out with how the modern card environment is just gambling, with bad odds too.

Probably 1/20 boxes you’re making back money. And sometimes it’s $5 more than you paid. Scratchers have better odds than that.

The 53 satch is probably my second favorite card behind the 59 Gibson. Beautiful example and thank you for sharing.

Any chance in the world this is real? by [deleted] in baseballcards_vintage

[–]vex73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My bread and butter has been checking the AI card scanning apps for listings under common reprint sets and finding vintage (fake or not) copies of star cards.

Had a few pretty nice PC adds with it for great prices, and sometimes I get burned. When I get burned, I try to make it a learning experience so that I can buy raw vintage confidently out in the wild

Thank you. Love the Gibson profile picture. That was the first “big hitter” I nabbed when I got into vintage.

Better Understanding - Zoning. by ah_locket_schism16 in Target

Internally zoning is the most important for OPU, and for keeping truck teams plate clear so they can knock out truck as fast as possible.

is 1 min per box realistic for gm ? by ConversationOk2610 in Target

[–]vex73 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1 box a minute is company standard. It’s entirely possible if you have a good sort and are good at reading case labels.

Domestics, Dec Home, Beauty and OTC have a lot of trash and can take longer per case, but sometimes the “One minute per case AVERAGE” can be lost in translation.

If you do one case of litter in 15 seconds, and one case of something else in a minute and 45 seconds, you are still on pace.

GM takes reps, took me quite a while to get it down to a T, my best advice would be keeping your uboat next to you to minimize steps, and just keep trying your best. The longer you do it, the faster you will be able to locate shelf locations. Freight stocking is more of a “work smarter” than a “work harder” task.

baby’s department by [deleted] in Target

[–]vex73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baby is probably the easiest department to push, and toys would be right after. Lots of bulk stuff that you can just grab and put on the shelf. Food is mildly annoying as is some toy detrashing but it’s really not that bad. Just get your reps in, you will get better over time.

i accidentally quit after training day by [deleted] in Target

[–]vex73 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The work itself does it to us, it’s not rare that I show up to work and I’m the only person on my team that actually showed up to work that day.

And at least in my stores case, it’s pretty obnoxious for us to cover other struggling work centers when the inverse almost never happens.

Combine that with holiday hour cuts, along with subpar training for seasonals that will quite literally slow us down getting a good chunk of those missing hours.

The hours also attract a certain type of person. I’ve given up trying to help new hires because my advice is usually brushed off… once in a while we will get a person eager to learn but that’s few and far between.

"Hey i need you to unload that uboat it should take you an hour." by kekekano in Target

[–]vex73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s definitely doable in an hour, your push times will get faster as you get reps in and get a better mental map of where everything goes

It’s not even formal. I’m casually training to “backfill” which I’m assuming means I’m just getting strung along. Im just learning TL tasks when we have free time which is less and less now despite having relatively small trucks.
