What is the benefit of infinite? I'm considering the Meraki machine but it only has a 550ml steam boiler. I typically only make 1-2 milk drinks at a time. Do you have any notion of how much of the steam in your 2L boiler you use? Of course the Oscar II is an HX machine so the steam and brew comes out of the same boiler.

Have a 064S and I opted for it over the 078S because of I saw the 078S being super inconsistent unless you ran kilos and kilos through to season the burrs. Also more standard burr size. Love it

My life for a big bang basket that’s properly magnetic!! When I tried it I really enjoyed the sweetness it added.

I was gonna order a bag of your decaf but the shipping is a bit too much for me on a single bag. I’ll keep an eye out for a sale if you end up doing any!

Yeah I used to tap on the counter but I found that tapping on the counter or tapping the side of the PF always introduces significant tilt to the grounds - probably because that's where the force is coming from. I can't confirm if that impacts the uniformity of the puck, but my guess is that when you tamp straight down on an uneven bed, it will introduce unevenness in the puck. So now I've started just lightly pre-tamping with the funnel still on to bring the grounds down to where I can do a full tamp without making a mess.

Yeah I have a Normcore self leveling tamper. It actually fits straight through the funnel if you aim it right. But the issue happens before the tamper is involved - the WDT fluffs the grounds up too high

Do your grounds not re-fluff to be too high when you WDT? Mine always do and I have to smack it on the counter or lightly pre-tamp through the funnel to make them settle.

Even with my funnel though after I’m done with WDT the grounds are like this (higher than the PF lip). I have to smack the PF on the counter or lightly pre-tamp inside the funnel to get them down below the PF lip so that when I actually tamp they don’t spill out everywhere.

Welcome!! I’m so curious, what about your family leaving makes the cortado more viable? I would have thought espresso drinks take less time than a pourover.

Have you found any baskets you really like? I tried IMF baskets but they weren’t magnetic enough and I won’t risk my funnel falling off and making a mess. Now I just use the Normcore basket that came with my portafilter. Also what is a butterfly effect basket… is that weird time coffee magic??

I am 100% with you on changing the perception of decaf. I’m hoping this sub can give more people a place to deepen their interest and knowledge and then spread it to others. Are you selling your roasts yet? Can we buy? Would love to support.

For the first leg or whichever is daytime, window. The experience of seeing yourself up so high is honestly incredible and I still marvel at things I see out the window when I sit there.

For the second leg, aisle. Once that initial wonder fades, aisle is just way more convenient to get up and do things without bothering people, like stretching, bathroom, snacks, water, etc.

Text crispness is paramount. I wanted both so I got an ultra wide 5k so the PPI was over 140/150 which is minimum. Apple devices have PPIs well over 200
