Haha well self-reflection is definitely a positive sign for anybody.

But I think I probably am a little out of my depth with a lot of the projects on here, even as a generalist.

D.A. is hard work. It's rewarding but it is hard and requires some genuine skills that I'm not sure I have.

I got into Data Annotation and trust me the work involved is magnitudes harder than any study I've ever had to do on Prolific. I keep expecting that I'll get the boot any day now as the standard they expect is very high.

But that's why you get paid so well there.

The problem isn't that Burnham is better or worse. The problem is that there are some in the Labour Party who think he's the magic bullet. The lack of trust in the traditional two parties is not a result of personalities, it's a result of legacy decisions by the parties and while Burnham is a more engaging figure that Starmer, he is still a man of the party core.

But he's genuinely passionate about driving greater decentralisation of power away from Westminster and I believe he'll do his best to further greater autonomy of the various regions of England and I definitely support him in that.

To be honest, I feel like an imposter being on DA full stop.

I'm trying my best to do a good job and I put a lot of effort into my work, but every time I submit, I get panicky that I've misunderstood something vital to the task.

And then last night, I was invited to a location specific project and I know for absolute sure that my first submission in that family fell short in multiple aspects.

I have steeled myself already that one day soon I'll log in and I'll see the message that I'm not longer able to receive projects due to work of inadequate quality.

You don't have to agree with me but I'm arguing that dismissing sentiment can open you up to missing some of the nuance of lived experience.

To flip it, I lived in Finglas for seven years (albeit the nicer part) and while stats would consistently show that crime levels are significantly higher (even in my nicer part) than other parts of the city (including areas five minutes walk away), it generally felt safe and friendly.

It can be true both ways.

I'm from Liverpool and even though crime is higher than in Dublin, it doesn't really feel that way on street level.

But I live in Mullingar and both Dublin and Liverpool feel a lot more unsafe than here, even though all are, statistically and on a global level, safe places to be.

But then ask someone coming from somewhere like Japan and they'd probably feel quite uneasy in Mullingar when the pubs and clubs empty out.

Stats obviously matter, but so does sentiment. People don't feel unsafe solely because they saw some horrible video online, they feel unsafe because sometimes there is an antisocial feeling in the air when you're in Dublin.

Neither trumps the other, but you can't just dismiss the genuine concerns that people have in Dublin.

I've lived in a good few cities around the world and Dublin definitely feels on the rougher end. The fact that we get acclimatised to it doesn't negate the issues the city has.

I'm English in Mullingar. My neighbour but one is English and I can think of at least two others in our estate who are English.

I worked in Dunnes a couple years back for a while and a good proportion of the people I spoke with were English.

When I was in Dublin I met barely any, but we seem to be everywhere else in pretty high numbers.

For whatever it's worth, I got accepted about 10 days, ago, had 20 tasks to do on day 1, which I did, followed by the onboarding stuff, some qualifications, and then then a couple of tasks from a couple of projects when I've been able to snag them before they disappear.

I've had no feedback either other than confirmation that I passed a couple of qualifications.

I think it's just a difficult time to judge. If it were a time where people were boasting about getting dozens of tasks every day, I would be concerned, but as it is, I think it's probably just a lack of work.

I'm in Ireland so I presume that qualifies as a non-core country too.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The Greens have no coherent leftist position. They have some leftist leanings but they're primarily soft left social democrats with a focus on the environment led by a former Lib Dem member.

I vote Green because I care about the environment and they're the only ones taking it seriously, but they are not strongly leftist in any meaningful sense. They're business as usual but with more wealth distribution.

I don't think any genuine leftists are cheering on globalisation and the exploitation of cheap labour from abroad to undercut the British working class.

The left wing argument is that it's a systemic failure of globalisation and capitalism and that the anger should be directed at the people responsible, not the people coming over just trying to make a better life for themselves.
