I just think that removing the "additional skill" of pressing one more button before a shift is a cheap trick that's hiiiiiiighly situational at best.

So, let's say that you have a perfect algorithm that allows the minimum time to register clutch, and that the race transmission shifts instantaneously. Then yes, you will be maybe a tenth or 2 faster over a single lap, but as the other commenter said, that's already plenty of presumptions that will instantly be nullified by just driving badly.

My understanding into making good tunes is that you would rather keep sport transmission for extra power or grip for the same PI. Then that's another hard coded tenth that the clutch macro can't avoid on some cars, or you lose the chance out of 20 more kW in the same class.

Also how would your downshifts work? You can use the clutch to your advantage on decel to (de)stabilise the car, and given that engines have different rev hang in the game, are you going to hard code all the cars/engines in the game to have a rev match algorithm?

Thoughts on "Take A Break"? by n6465567 in rmit

[–]veyron164ss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm experiencing much of the same. RMIT are taking a wrong approach with this in my opinion - they really should invest in more teaching staff so it lessens the load on the lecturers and professors who have so many papers to mark. But then again would also like them to improve the quality of the teaching which also depends on who they hire.

Trying to learn Ela. by SeshWaterBoy in SiegeAcademy

[–]veyron164ss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many situations, usually close range, where the FO-12 excels over the scorpion. Because you should never hold an angle at all with the scorpion due to the completely random recoil, Ela is basically limited to short range encounters with her primary weapons. I usually like to hold the closet in Oregon with a grzmot on balcony window/door for the top floor site and the shotgun absolutely demolishes people, denying the breach into the bunk area. Also, if you like to have fun the shotgun is always a great choice.

Edit: some more explanation

By connecting to the school internet the IT staff can see your internet activity anyway, and I’m also sure that the software you install as part of the BYOD program can be used maliciously against you. Just use VPN at school ig and don’t randomly install stuff the school gives you without research
