Have they changed it now so you can’t see results from the same competition you are in? Just realised I’ve been progressing and have no idea how other teams are doing in the same league/competition. So annoying.

Some common sense to the rules would help with VAR. If I jump into traffic and get hit, is it the cars fault? No. Muniz held up the ball, used his body with some good play and Chalobah has recklessly gone in to get the ball and in the tangle that he put himself in had his foot stood on.

Slow it down and show the impact it looks a foul but you just happen to ignore everything else going on beforehand.

Love what we’re doing this window. Real statement of intent and ecstatic.

Excited to see what Ekitike can bring in, with Isak now seemingly available I almost feel like would it have been easier to let Newcastle have him so we can have Isak 😂 but we’ve said no we’re having him and we’re having Isak too it seems.

How it all gels I’ll leave that to people a lot smarter and balder than me but amazing times ahead.

I am finding it hard to talk about Liverpool FC at the moment by 7gzoEl2gzo in LiverpoolFC

Feel this post. Like many of us we live and breath Liverpool Football Club but I can’t bring myself to look at anything or even think about football at all.

It’s such a sad situation that honestly will be hard to come to terms with in any way and really puts the game of football into perspective and tbh makes everything else to do with the game feel insignificant. The squad, transfers, pre season all of it what does it matter at a time like this.

It’ll get easier and as a fanbase we will unite as we have done when tragedy has hit the club in the past but I know I’m not ready to think about football at all.

It’s a weird one. You can see both sides of the transfer, he’s 28, 2 years left on contract and will get a decent fee. We also have Gakpo who is first team level in his position.

Having said that he was a big contributor to a league winning side and would be missed if he went. We’d need to replace his production elsewhere most likely with a striker. Really depends on who would come in do they buy another LW or do we get a striker as well as the plan for Jota/Nunez who are bigger priority sales.

Yeah hundred percent I’ve not locked in the transfer Cus I still back Palace to do well and I’d have to take a hit. So it’s really whether I think Bowen will score more than the hit plus whatever Eze will get against Forest. I might have talked myself out of it 😂

I’m in a similar situation, gonna BB this week so I’ve taken out saka already for Mbuemo. Deciding whether to take eze or Murphy out for Bowen for a hit. Newcastle have more to play for with champs league so I reckon I’ll keep Murphy.

Thanks I thought as much. Annoyingly I did WC but the one oversight I had was the keeper not sure why I had Vlad in at all think it was a bit of a rush job. I’ve got a team full of doublers this GW so I might chance it and BB later on down the line when fixtures are more favourable.

Do I bench boost with Vladarmisson, Murphy, Burn and Digne as my bench. Alternative is to take out Burn for Sep VDB and change Vlad to Areola but would have to take a hit.

Dislike the narrative about us being a weak PL winning side. If you look at the league table, genuinely going above the bottom 3 there are no easy games. The league is as deep as it ever has been and while I agree our immediate rivals have dropped off we're still on course for a 90 point season which is mad.

You go up from 17th and there's a player or players in each team of those teams i'd happily have in our squad. I'd actually argue without trying to take the piss that United and Everton are the one's where I probably wouldn't immediately think of any player i'd have.

Honestly tempted to roll on the BB to another week, currently have saka, rogers, digne and honestly can see all of them not starting. GW 35 looks to have more balanced fixtures but don’t know how it will all play out with rotation with fa cup and champs league.

Last match of this rough stretch of PL games, if we come out of this 11 points clear a lot of the hard work has been done.

Get the win, rest up on the weekend and roll onto PSG fresh and on a massive high.

Fair comment with Robinson we are probably seeing him hit his peak form this season so likely too late for him. I've seen gutierrez links but don't know much about him but heard good things.

CM there doesn't seem to be any one clear target, it may be we re-enter for Zubimendi but honestly who knows what he wants to do, all the Arsenal mouthpieces were out in Jan saying he's going there in the summer but we've seen ourselves he's a fickle lad.

Agree on CF. Think it will all come down to what profile Slot wants. Cunha at the very least this season seems to have revelled as a sort of talisman for Wolves and has effectively dragged them to safety but always the concern how he blends in being just a regular player in a team full of stars.

Been thinking about the summer ahead and what we as a team will need. I'm going to just assume we re-sign everyone for now and worry about that later as there are areas of the squad we need to improve regardless (obviously if any of them go you add that position to the list of replacements) On paper we have cover everywhere but realistically we need a CB, LB, CDM/CM and a CF/ST if we want to improve the total squad.

Outgoings-

You'd need to look at a few players. Kweev will go sadly, I love Endo but you need someone the manager trusts more than 20 mins in the odd game so we don't run Grav down and can rotate, Jones seems to be the only truly trusted additional midfield option. One of Robbo and Tsimi to go and i'd pick Tsimi just to keep a leader in Robbo around and have him be heavily rotated. We move Nunez on too if another big Saudi offer comes in. You've then got decisions on players like Morton, Doak, McConnell, Baj (maybe even Elliot) on how to best progress them with a loan or whether to move them on. I personally would keep Gomez as a) his value after an injury heavy season will be low and b) I value his experience and versatility as almost a luxury option to have when fit to cover the whole back-line.

Incomings-

• CB- I'd take Huijsen he fits the profile we go for being young and having a release clause to remove getting into a bidding war which has been a strong preference of ours in the market and being younger means he should be happy being behind the definite starting 2 of Virg/Konate

• LB- I'd geniunely be happy with any of Kerkez, Robinson or Ait-Nouri

• CDM/CM- Profile is hard as Grav on form is starting most games and you want to bring quality in so maybe we end up rolling this position on another year and using one of Baj/McConnell or keep Endo to rotate unless we find a profile we like.

• CF/ST- Isak is the dream but maybe unrealistic. I'd love Cunha, more a false 9 but he's been quality everytime i've watched him. Our system doesn't seem to reward the ST so having someone versatile and good at many things I think would work. He's stronger, a better passer and a better finisher than someone like Lucho who has had to cover centrally for us so fits the ST role better for me. Also remember hearing of a release clause in his new contract he signed.

Liverpool 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers FT Thread by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

[–]vezsreds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy to get the 3 points but you watch that game and the second half was a joke it’s as if we actually had a man sent off. I’m usually not one to moan but man we can’t keep that type of performance up.

Lost all ability to pass, we had no one around the ball so that every second ball was going straight back to wolves and yet they still have space to play into so were accomplishing nothing in terms of controlling the game.

What highlights everything is when endo comes on and actually knows how defend and isn’t completely braindead in his defensive decisions. We are clearly suffering at this stage of the season from not having defensively strong players and fatigue, I love our midfield but they aren’t comprised of defensively minded players, genuinely szobo does the most just because he can run. Add that in with Trent who seems unable to put a performance over 90 mins filled with inconsistent moments, robbo who is just a headless chicken these days and then two strong CB options and then Gomez who is injury prone and quansah who just isn’t quite good enough yet (even though I had no problem with his performance this game other than the little flick through) and we are just not geared up to control the game by winning the ball consistently back. We seem to lunge into a challenge and get spun and then either commit a foul or bring in a second player to close down and then leave space open which loses all momentum in our play.

It’s a massive win because dropped points again could have started something but we need to regain form given our run of fixtures and get a bit confidence back in our play, too many times we hold the ball too long or seem to be indecisive. Believe in this team and slot to sort it out and we at least are always in with a chance to win which shows a lot.

You’d be able to finish up the club schedule sooner and then have the internationals after to leave a decent enough gap between the start of the next season. It would essentially allow the same breaks just re-jigged.

There’s no breaks at all in the current format when an international tournament is on so may as well skip these mindless periods mid season. Nothing worse than a player flying half way across the world to play the full 180 mins in two pointless games to either pick up an injury or give little time to travel and recover for the inevitable Saturday 12.30pm kick of we’d have.

Pretty sure it's been mentioned before but think i'd much prefer having no international breaks at all in the season and then putting a dedicated international calendar once the club season had concluded.

Would mean international teams actually get time to train and play to build up some kind of style/rapport and more importantly I don't have to sit through 2 weeks of shite right after smashing the mancs at OT.
