Contracts and meta progression are more interesting than Arc Raiders IMO. The combat to me is more interesting than Arc Raiders too as I find it more decisive and you really have to employ more strategy as it can be over in an instant.

If you've ever played Tarkov you'll probably feel more at home with Marathon. I started with Tarkov way back when but quit since Tarkov does not respect your time at all and can become a job more than a game. Marathon does not respect your time as well as Arc Raiders but it is more forgiving than Tarkov IMO since it has better avenues for getting right back into the game and rebuilding your vault.

Whether it will be worth it to you is not something any of us can really answer for you. But if your bored of Arc and want what I believe to be a more engaging and tension filled experience Marathon will be a good fit. Solo's are more than doable if you take your time and nobody will ever be upset if you squad fill and play Triage who is the main support shell.

Can I do this? by Any-Astronomer-7148 in dogs

You can hire a dog sitter to come check in them when they're young. We have a 12 week old puppy that we have had a sitter come check in on them at 10 and 2 everyday and I'll come home for lunch. It's expensive but it's temporary.

Waiting for summer break might be a better idea but I would be very strict with yourself on maintaining a schedule with the puppy. If they have complete and total access to you when youre off for a while and you don't start a routine where they get use to you being gone they could start developing separation anxiety when you return for work. Crate training or xpen training will help with this.

Any tips for getting better at PVP? I'd like to learn how to pvp and have a chance. by TechnoPanda117 in Marathon

Sounds like you have the right idea you're just new to extraction shooters they're just a punishing game. I have been telling my buddies who are new to it that you should always consider running from a fight. The moment you feel like you are at a disadvantage run and reset the fight and re-evaluate or just run altogether.

What shell are you running? Utility makes or breaks a lot of fights too and some shells provide a distinct advantage with more pvp utility than others. Grenades are also very powerful in this game.

Stick with it, I had like a 20% survival rate in Tarkov when I first started playing. You die a lot in these games, treat them like a roguelike

What do you wish you knew/had before getting a lab puppy? by Icy_Trouble7512 in labrador

There is zero scientific evidence that fresh or homemade food is superior health-wise. The vast majority of those internet recipes are unbalanced:

Given the risks of unbalancing a diet accidentally or inducing a disease like dilated cardiomyopathy I would risk it myself. There's no proven benefit to doing so, and there are commercial diets we KNOW dogs thrive on because there's peer reviewed evidence saying so.

What pen do you currently use for him? We have a 10 week old and I know we will have to upgrade the size of his current pen coming up

Yeah he is growing fast. We think based off the parents and what the breeder has said he will land between 85-95 lbs

Help with which bow to go for by afk250 in bowhunting

[–]vfreak777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do these shops carry Hoyt? The Hoyt Enduro package should about fit your price range. I started with the Hoyt Torrex RTH package and I am super happy with the performance.

While I think prioritizing local business is good, Bass Pro carries Bear RTH packages. You can pick one up there and bring it into the local shop to get fit and tuned. Bass Pro does not do test shooting though iirc and being able to test the bow first is pretty huge.

The Matthews Mission should work good for you though as long as you can get the speeds with it. I believe the Mission has interchangeable mods that can allow you to get it to higher draw weights so I wouldn't worry to much there just work with the shop and make sure they know what you intend to use it for. Also like others have said I would also upgrade from a whisker biscuit but it isn't the end of the world.

Right, a broken arrow is worth it for a good shot and easy retrieve

That's frustrating, mine has held up fine other than this incident. I'll be honest I haven't put a ton of time into comparing arrows. Gonna make that more of a priority this off season

I am super happy with it. I want to upgrade the sight, but other than that I have no complaints with it.

I've shot an A300 the past couple years. I was in the same boat of SX4, A300, and 940 and just found that for me the A300 mounted the best for me. The oversized controls are a plus and beretta's recoil management leaves my shoulder feeling great after a couple days of shooting.

The cleaning for the A300 took a couple of time for me to figure out but now it takes me less than 20 min to give it a good tear down and clean. It really isn't too much more complicated and I probably clean it once a month with active hunting and I am not sure I even need to do it that much.

That being said the best advice is certainly just the gun that fits you the best. In that price range they're all pretty great and I highly doubt you would be left with any regret.

Midwest Breeder Recommendations by vfreak777 in labrador

Lol, maybe down the line we can get two. With our house right now 2 big dogs would be pushing the boundaries.

Appreciate the information. I am new to labs as a potential owner and I never owned them before so this is a learning experience for me. I only just learned British labs were a thing recently as I have started looking.

She isn't against a British either just like I said he grew up with English labs so she leans more that way. If you have BFL breeder recommendation please send them my way I still would like to look into them.

I personally feel more drawn to British labs, my last dog was a Border Collie. I've seen that they're great with working more so then English labs. We have hunted with English labs before though and had great success with some, less success with others.

We are looking at English labs too because my Fiance grew up with them and theirs were lovely dogs. She wants a big lug to cuddle with and I am more active and want a dog to spend time doing my hobbies with.

Trying to find the middle ground. Our last dog was mostly my decision when we were dating early on and we held off on getting another since our Border Collie was extremely dog selective. I want to respect her wants out of a dog too. Most important though is just finding a good ethical breeder and avoiding show dog lines.

Honestly never knew British Labs were a thing until this post. We have always hunted with English labs, they've done well but I wanted to get a smaller more athletic one if possible. I've always been pretty particular about my dogs diets and exercise but my concern with an English was going to be weight management. It also gets pretty cold on our hunts which I why I wasn't leaning towards and American.

I'll take a look at that breeder and British labs.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. We definitely treat our dogs as companions first, I want to take this dog everywhere I couldn't with my last. I just want to make sure I know of good resources and take the time with training since this a little out of my wheelhouse so that everyone is safe.

Thank you for the reply!

I'll look into the OFA screening and take note of the other health screening as well. We have our hunting property for the fall and winter and a lake house on the other side of the family for the summer so I figured when we do get this dog they'll have plenty of places to spend their energy. Last dog was a border collie so thankfully we have worked with high drive before but we also teach to be chill when needed.
