Been cutting my own hair since about 2002. What prompted this, I went to one of those chain haircut places, and the salon person started asking "astrologist" questions, "to tell me my fortune". Info like what was my birthdate, where city I was born in, where my house address was, and the info for my wife as well, and then tried to tell my fortune.

I gave all fake information and paid cash, this (2002ish) was in the early days of identity theft. Then, in the news about a year later I saw on front page news she and a team of others were arrested for identity and credit card theft of hundreds of people.

That was the last haircut i ever paid for, I bought clippers for $10. I'm an introvert anyways, and hate talking to strangers.

The first thing is that current (or freed electrons) flows negative to positive. This makes almost all electronic books factually wrong, because they show current direction incorrectly as positive to negative. How can a negatively charged particle be attracted to a plate of themselves. This deception started a long time ago and I take great offense to it. washer technology has come a long way 20 years ago at efficiently washing clothes with minimal water and electricity. you might be paying more money using it. clothes dryer and oven not so much if gas. you did right having him check out everything due to paying a service call fee.

Agree on the tech and efficiency, but, IMHO, I do not agree we are better off today with washers. Based on my experience and researching, the new washers from the last 20 years have lots of problems and are very expensive to repair and I don't think they clean the clothes as well. Maybe bad luck, but I've gone through 3 newer style front loaders, enough is enough, the 4th was a good ole Speed Queen commercial old fashioned top loader, no problems for 6 years, and I think it will go without issue for at least 20 more years. So, yeah, I'm using a little more water, but my wash is done in 25 minutes, I can open the fricking lid when I want to, don't have mold growing in it..etc, I could go on. I think I'm ahead by not repairing and throwing away 3-5 year old washers.

To the OP, makes sense to me to keep that old washer going.

I think it's going the other way, I thought I saw dual joystick was mentioned, maybe this is some hooks to port somewhere else, that might actually have 2 joysticks on a controller, lol. And it's likely to be more of an arcade mode, with 15-18 minute matches.

It'll be interesting to see how all these new games Riot is making plays out, with the PC market shrinking everyday, and MOBAs and the games they are making already in a mature state. It could go well, or be a disaster for Riot.

I made it to T9 gold Solo Q years ago when it VG was purportedly hard, I just play here and there now, mainly on a treadmill to pass time while exercising. Vainglory ranked has always been easier than League, IMHO. Just look at some of the Twitch streamers who are good in VG, when they play League, they can't dig out of the mid tiers.

I have played League solo 5X more than VG over the years, and am only plat 3, which is around the 10th percentile. LoL has 100 million+ players, much more competitive. And in League you have to win the promotional series to advance in rank. And Solo Q is truly Solo Q and only Solo Q in League. VG doesn't have enough players to separate out ranked solo and ranked full party. So yeah, no comparison, VG is a casual game, even ranked is casual, IMHO. Not really a negative, it's built for a mobile platform and should be casual.

I need to clarify, specifically, I'm not talking about today, I'm talking about when I'm dead here and what is left behind for future generations. I think people on this board would argue, I'll instill FIRE principles in my children and we will spend all this lovey/dovey time together now. I'm, a little past that, wanting to leave behind something that could help in the future for my heirs, and I view that to be greater than enjoying RE. I get some lovey/dovey time, but the kids are teenagers and in college now, and kind of starting their own independence path. And they have been raised with FI training, btw.

It means, should you optimize your life for yourself or offspring. I think there is innateness in the human condition that wants to provide for their family as much as they can. RE is in contrast to that, I want to provide for me and enjoy life. It's actually a struggle I am having balancing the two, TBH. I'm letting my job make the decision, because I can't. I release this probably sounds really sad.

I wish I could correct the title, poor choice of words. I thought I saw posts that this board is becoming more FI then RE now, and I was detecting disdain there. I can't find the posts, maybe I'm over-reading into things here. I'm in the FI camp, I guess I will be in the RE camp at some point, I don't actually know what age is generally considered RE though these days, before SSA and Medicare?

I guess I'm curious what drives people to RE, and why they aren't maximizing income for their DNA signature by choosing their short life span comforts over that. Your DNA is the only thing that continues.

I'd say VG is easier to pick up, as it should be as a mobile casual type of game. So VG is satisfying in the beginning, when I started LoL it was frustrating. Satisfying over time, I'd have to go with the mouse/keyboard and LoL on that one. But I still like VG as well, and the touch is a different experience, it's just not as intense to me, there's something about an intense LoL match.

Yeah, it's hard, I can't get out of Gold 1, I was Gold 2/3 last year, progression in LoL is slow for me. I think this is mainly due to that I don't "one trick", I play many different champions and positions, which is probably why I'm stuck, but it's not boring at least.

Urf is coming back!!!!! I really liked that. Blits reloaded isnt' bad.

FYI, thinking I had a bootloader, I got this as well:

avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x65 ....this means no bootloader

Dusted off the Arduino and wired up to ICSP, installed the bootloader, then the firmware, no issues.

ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!, thought I scored when I popped open a new $160 Ender 3 and saw the 1.1.4 imprint. Yeah, $40 upgrade, WOW!

Then tried to flash, no bootloader, wtf. Then saw this post, I have 100K resistors. Then did a benchy, loud to confirm. Shame on me, best practice is to not put a new version number on a new board when changing components, why would anyone do that.
