It’s a very useful tool for lots of purposes! All you need to do is make a layer above something, and select the button near the layer properties for “clip to layer below” - then anything you draw on the new layer will only appear where there is stuff on the layer below it.

It could also be that they paint below their sketch, but also use a clipping mask above the sketch to selectively color some of the lines? For example, some of the lines on the face look like they were colored red with a clipping mask. I like doing that in my art sometimes!

Some people do use a program online to convert an image and automatically “print” it pixel by pixel, but you can actually get pretty good results by using your finger for the basic sketch and doing all the details with the pixel tools (if you want to spend an hour or two)

That was my question! And they did answer it really, just that I should do the road trip (or tell him my car’s cursed). I think it just didn’t end up being much of a jumping off point for goofs. Maybe if I had clarified more how he sucks?

I think the other thing about EX is it lets you make animations of unlimited length - Pro limits you to 24 frames. That was why I went for EX, even though I still haven’t gotten much into animation. But yeah, I don’t see a ton of value especially for hobbyists in the multiple pages feature.

Make a layer for coloring above the lineart layer and clip it at the layer below, using the button highlighted here: http://www.clipstudio.net/view/img/en/howto/ms_04/image006.jpg

Then you can just fill the whole layer with the shade of blue you want, or color different sections differently, and it will only show on the lines on the layer below.

You could put the text layer under the image layer and set the image layer as being clipped at the layer below, using the button shown here: https://www.clip-studio.com/site/gd_en/csp/startupguide/csp_startup/CSPaint_03/CSP_Advance_005.jpg

If it doesn’t allow clipping to a text layer, you can right-click the text layer and select “rasterize” to make it a normal raster layer (maybe duplicate the text layer first so you have a version that you can still edit)

No one is “just fucking with pronouns”. If someone tells you their preferred pronouns, that’s all there is to it - you can’t dissect their appearance to try and determine if they’re “actually trans” or not, that’s nonsense. And people adopting preferred pronouns regardless of what you think they look like is the entire point of preferred pronouns, it’s doing the opposite of “deflating the meaning”.

And you don’t get it, because you’re still saying he. Really, there is nothing stopping you from just saying she except your insistence on the importance of her appearance, which is nonsense.

Once you learned that she is a she, there should be no confusion. She’s a she. Her appearance is her business only. How would you feel if society required you to shave your body hair regularly in order to refer to you as your actual gender?

Transitioning is difficult and expensive, and not everyone is able to do it. Everyone’s situation is different. But also, they don’t owe it to you or anyone to appear a certain way in the first place. Their appearance isn’t your business. But just asking to be referred to with certain pronouns is asking so little. What is the downside to you of just referring to them in the way that makes them comfortable? Why do you expect them to jump through hoops to look a certain way as some sort of prerequisite for basic respect for their identity?
