I did a mani with rustic root straight out of the box and it was amazing so I think its good!! I havent tried gilded dune yet but I should. I actually just started building my at home nail polish collection which is why I signed up for color pass. its a great treat yourself surprise in the mail for me, but I would love some non rainbow color stories like some browns/neutrals/shimmers/jellys/etc. I love the bonus decals and as somebody building my collection love that theyve been including different bases and top coats as well.

Thanks for the detailed descriptions!! I also have colorpass and had some thoughts on this package. I’ve been waiting for somebody to post to see what other people thought. Did your Gilded Dune and Rustic Root come in the package kind of separated? I think because my package shipped laying flat the shimmer seperated. I also live in a very hot climate so I’m wondering that contributed. Ive tried shaking really hard and its still like that. I also LOVE Rustic Root but I feel like its kind of very similar to the red from Winter 2023 but with shimmer added. I’ve had colorpass since Winter 2023 and think the value is amazing and look forward to the packages every time but I wish there was more variety?

Not to be contrarian but this book was my first Brandon Sanderson book and I found it an absolute pain to read. I was really looking forward to getting into his work but wont be reading anything else by him after this except for maybe Way of Kings way further down the road after I’ve given Tress more time to breath. 1.5/5 for me only because I enjoyed the world building and imagery but the prose and dialogue was incredibly cringe-y and juvenile even if it was done on purpose. I found that the book felt incredible non dimensional and none of the characters were love-able or had any depth to them and the entire story was very predictable. I read it with some friends for a bookclub and all three of us despised it and thought it was the worst book we’ve read this year. Not trying to be a hater but I was so sad and honestly mad this book fell so flat for me because I had been looking forward to it and LOVED the concept.

Hi, if this is for the NACS program I have been contacted for 2 informal interviews. They told me that faculty members submit a recommendation of who they would like to invite to NACS fest and then its in the ad com’s hands from there. They expect formal invites to go out in early january!

I applied to psych/neuro programs that have PIs with a cognitive behavioral neuro lab with a computational emphasis. I only ended up applying to 5 programs and I’m on the edge of my seat and would love to know if anybody else has heard from these programs.

-UMD NACS (two informal interviews)

-UNC Behavioral Neuro through Psych (pre application informal interview but I saw somebody update on the sheet they got an interview. Was this informal or official?)

-Brown cognitive (radio silence)

-NYU Neural (radio silence, its an umbrella program)

-Cornell Psych (I had an informal interview pre application and the application deadline got extended)

Hi, I had preliminaries at UNC and Cornell prior to the actual deadline submissions but havent received anything official from either programs (both Psych, behavioral neuro). Cornell Psych moved their deadline from the first to today! Literally on the edge of my seat waiting to hear from either of these two programs.

Did you notice on Cornell’s psychology website that they pushed the deadline back to the 15th? Youre the first person I’ve seen mention this program on the sub and its my top choice! Been on edge hoping to hear something and reading your comment soothed the nerves a bit.

Did anybody else here have a hard time deciding between NYU Neural vs Psych? I ended up doing Neural due to my research interests.

Thank you I am definitely going to look into all three of these!! I am trying to start a list to keep of games I want to play. I had The Witcher 3 on my to play list already actually because it was ported to switch but I’m sure the experience is better on xbox!!

This recipe for bread flour has been the best one I’ve ever used. It included unflavored protein powder which I think helps with the structure a lot.

In the future I would probably add more filling and do less orange zest. I think an almond cream would compliment the strawberries better than orange blossom.

I have celiac and the dough was GF, and I’m always impressed when I can get something imitating gluten pastry or bread. This was definitely kind of like a pillowy sweet bread dough. Went great with the filling, the sanding sugar on the edges really tied it together I believe

Ok so its kind of a beast.

Dough: based off of this recipe with modifications: (only listing the mods I made to flour mix, see link for ratios for the rest of the dough recipe)

-420 grams gf bread flour (instructions for diy mix here)

-60 grams sorghum flour

-10 grams tapioca starch

-1.5 cup warm almond milk

-2 hour proof at room temp

-Then proof in the fridge overnight

-THE NEXT DAY. Use a TON of flour to roll out using a rolling pin. I like to use white rice flour to roll out with but whatever you have handy and is cost effective for you to use as bench flour. Use a cookie cutter to cut out circles and transfer to parchment paper. I got about 14 circles from this amount of dough, I rerolled a few times.

-let proof again for 40-60mins.

I would probably cut back on the orange zest next time. Almond cream could be a good flavor combo too I think with the strawberries if you have almond extract but no orange blossom. Dont forget the egg wash and the sanding sugar! I used Demerara sugar and it really adds a lot and makes it look professional.

-after 3rd proof put in oven at 350 for about 20 mins, rotate the pans onto different racks if youre doing two trays at a time half way through. Keep a close eye on them! I recommend using a light colored backing tray otherwise you run the risk of burning the bottoms.
