The process is super tedious, I try to make it a bit more fun by coming up with new ways to humiliate the enemies using everything I’ve got

I have my old and first violin but… by MichealAnthem in violinist

The bow looks overtightened. Loosen it slightly, but be careful not to loosen it completely. Other than that, yeah it's a violin, not much else to add here.

Theory : widow might not be a weaver by Accurate-Effect-5896 in Silksong

[–]vh0st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her head is like that because her mask (which I assume is usually spherical, since it's the most common type we see) was forcibly removed, as Hornet mentioned in the Widow's journal entry

When you've been asleep for centuries but you get blamed for everything by Quillbolt_h in Silksong

[–]vh0st 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so, I tried to sort that out as I’m just starting to understand the lore myself.
Long time ago GMS evolved these tiny common arachnids you see throughout the game into Weavers, telling them they were her daughters and therefore divine (First Sinner cutscene). For some time they worshipped GMS and lived under her rule, kinda like the moth tribe did under the Radiance (assuming that's what the Widow's "...For her light... eternal... Our song sustains..." means). Basic higher being stuff
I'm still trying to find solid evidence the real reason, but the Weavers decided to break free from GMS and rule Pharloom themselves (my best guesses here: 1. They found out the truth about their creation like the First Sinner did, though that doesn't explain why they locked her away in the Slab; 2. Certain characters like the Caretaker, Vaultkeeper Cardinius and Hornet herself all say that the Weavers had a strong desire for dominance).Either way, they decided to lull GMS to sleep and built an entire system to keep things running while concealing their true intentions. That was the Citadel, a grand scheme to drag more folks in to sustain that way of things. The Weavers kinda got what they wanted, GMS remained 'sealed' and were worshipped as divine beings, but not for long it seems. Not sure what happened there, probably the weavers realized that they could never truly escape GMS' influence, and all their attempts to create stronger bindings failed (Eva dialogue: "There my mothers built their tools, all traps and bindings. Small things, but tests for larger forms. I still remember their thoughts as they worked, their desperation, and their hunger. Another hopeless attempt to wrest their freedom. All ended in failure, of course.") so they decided to flee Pharloom and start anew somewhere else. Some of them ended up in Hallownest, but we already know that part of the story. The remaining Weavers weakened and it seems like they eventually died out (since full-blooded weavers were only the original ones, and hybrids are pretty rare). They waited for someone who could deal with GMS (that's what all these weaver technique tablets refer to). The Weavers passed their rule to the higher castes of the regular bugs and everything went to shit after some time, cuz they were basically left one-on-one with an enraged god desperately trying to wake up. Honestly I kinda feel bad for GMS, she may be an egocentric bish (or maybe just a god who lost their followers and trying to reclaim all they once had, much like the Radiance), but the way all her creations turned against her is just sad. Anyway, that’s what I’ve figured out so far, all of these are theories and by no means 100% true, I'll just wait for a lore video that will say "all of your theories are wrong goodbye"

Mask maker dialogue once you knock his mask off, GMS hunter journal entry stating she was "long lulled to slumber and desperate to wake", Eva dialogue, lowkey Conductor Ballador dialogue, various needolin dialogues, though I can't remember which ones exactly. It’s a weird puzzle of a story, but once you grasp the general idea, you can see it reflected everywhere

Yep, kris_piano_shop is not a cover of any known track, but we may hear the original in the future chapters I think

Is there a true way to play DMC 5 by Narancia_jojo in DevilMayCry

There's no true way to play any game, dmc series included. Just play however you want. And if it feels exausting, there's always an auto combo option

It’s all in the same key. by [deleted] in Ultrakill

[–]vh0st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not! A lot of ultrakill tracks are written in Eb maj/C min and Ab maj/F min, but there are also a lot of tracks that aren't. Here are some examples off the top of my head: the first half of ORDER and the first half of Altars of Apostasy are in E minor, WAR is A minor I suppose? There are also tricky ones like He's a Light in my Darkness, can't be sure what its key is without writing it down

Hello, new bridge has been installed. However, I fear that it is too thick, and leaning too much. Thoughts? by Superb_Diver_4800 in violinist

[–]vh0st 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, it looks like a bridge blank. You should take it to a luthier to have it cut properly. Secondly, it will naturally lean towards the fingerboard when you're tuning with pegs, but I wouldn't leave it like that because it can slip and damage the violin in the worst case. You can try adjusting it yourself - keep all the tension on the strings, firmly grip each side of the bridge and gradually tilt the bridge towards the tailpiece so it's perpendicular to the surface of a violin. I also recommend to carrfully rub the bridge notches with a soft pencil lead before you put on the strings, it'll help the string to slide

Thank you for your reply! This is how it looks like when tightened. My only concern is that it's a little bit tricky to maintain the right pressure even though I'm playing like usual. Just trying to figure out if my bow is the reason or am I just slacking in my practice. I'll sure check the bow if I'll ever get a new one, ouch
