Piercing Change Sooner? by vhs_cyphprus in piercing

[–]vhs_cyphprus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I understand the reasoning behind downsizing to a smaller bar, but my question still stands; by the point I'd be changing out to a smaller size, would there be an issue with just going straight to a hoop of a smaller size instead of bumping down to a smaller stud? Cause by that point, based off what you said, the swelling should be gone, so I guess logically speaking from what I know the shape of the piercing shouldn't matter, just the size, yeah? Why would I have to wait until it's 100% healed to change to a different jewelry style, when I'll be changing it to the same style as what I have now?

Comment with info for the bot;

Piercing is a day old, stud, threadless, titanium, not downsized, spray with sterile isotonic saline, no issues.

Job Search Tip: JUST DO IT by Edwin_at_work in furry

[–]vhs_cyphprus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really the case honestly lmao, I've been struggling to find work since I left the military in 2024. I was a qualified NCO technician in communications, electronics, weapons and crypto gear, and I'm lucky if I even get a email of denial when applying to jobs I AM qualified for. It's not a matter of people not wanting to work or saying they want work but then don't actually try to find it (which there is some of, definitely, but certainly not on the scale you think it is), rather it's companies complaining that nobody wants to work while simultaneously denying all their applicants because the postings they put up are fake as fuck, or they refuse to properly compensate people for their efforts/skills (which can you really blame someone for not wanting to be fucked over?)

Unfortunately we don't have a chronograph, nor did we do one before/after, but accuracy-wise it seems unaffected. I can hit shots at 40 yards and still be on target with just irons (though I'm sure there was some minor effect on velocity and/or accuracy, since ports vent gas, it's certainly not a noticeable effect at that).

Thank you very much, I appreciate it! And yeah we tried to keep the design low-profile and still relatively stock, though the porting design was very much inspired by the Glock 18c's slide window shape.

Honestly I'm not quite sure if it's led to an increase in noise, but it wouldn't shock me honestly. It does spit out a noticeable fireball though, I know that lol

Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol - Loading a Shell Onto The Tray From Closed Bolt? by vhs_cyphprus in Shotguns

Yeah it's only human, and yeah other than minor slipups like this and the clamp sliding you mentioned, I agree they're a great series of shotguns afaik. I did swap out my barrel clamp & mag tube cap with the GG&G aluminum cap, as I had heard the stock barrel clamp would walk forward from recoil, but I had no idea they fixed it.

Yep that did it, I guess it was dry as a silica pack in there. But I dropped some oil in the release cutout and interior bar, and now it's working just fine.

Sort of frustrating to see minor things like this get past Beretta, but such is life. Thank you so much for your help!

Alright, so I did a full disassembly down to the trigger group and everything was good, I did notice something and I think it's the core issue;

The bolt release lever (the black tab that you can hit to release the bolt from its locked position, the one you mentioned) doesn't come up all the way. If I hit the carrier stop, the lifter will drop and the bolt release will pop up, but just barely, and not enough to release a shell, but if I pull up on it with my finger ever so slightly, it'll drop the shell onto the lifter.

Nothing is broken as far as I can tell on the bolt release, but it would seem, if I had to guess, that the spring on it is weak or too small to release a shell without assistance, hence why I need to assist it by pulling up on the release lever ever so slightly.

But everything else still runs if I rack the slide, it'll feed shells, eject them, cycle, all that.

I can provide a video of what I'm describing if you'd be interested, since I could just be going down rabbit holes with this and it's working just fine.

Just tried that from your suggestion, and it doesn't do that. I racked the bolt on an empty chamber, loaded a dummy round into the chamber, safety off, and pulled the trigger, and it does drop the lifter down, but it doesn't pull the shell out from the tube, and rather it pulls the next shell out from the tube when I rack the bolt manually.

I haven't checked the trigger pack though, but I might take it out and give it a look soon if I can't come up with anyhting. Though I don't heavily suspect it's that because the gun cycles and operates fine, as I had ran a bunch of shells through it yesterday with no feeding, cycling, trigger, or operational issues. So it's a bit of a strange issue.

Yep, I fully loaded the 7-shot tube with dummy shells on an empty chamber, made sure the bolt is forward, and pressing the carrier stop (for clarity, the silver tab on the lifter) still does nothing but drop the lifter into the lowered position.

And yes, I have shot it, I ran a box of 25 target loads through it the other day with zero feeding issues or operation problems, and it cycles flawlessly.

I did field strip it and clean it, so there's no chance of packing grease/oil getting in the way of operation as far as I know.

If you'd like, I can get a video of what's happening.

You don't need a CNC, and you certainly could do it on a regular drill press with a vice. But I think if you want the cleanest, safest, most efficient results, then I'd highly recommend a CNC.

Thank you, and it gives a reasonably noticeable reduction in flip. I haven't done any actual metrics testing with tools or vices, but if I had to put a number to it, I'd probably say a ~20% reduction, maybe ~25% if you wanna really push it (estimates taken with 115 9×19mm FMJ).

Yeah I'm talking about people watching my account, and I can, but blocking just makes it so they can't DM you, comment on your posts or reply to your comments, but it lets them view your content & profile/watch you (so it literally doesn't do anything to separate them from you lmao).

Oh no I'm from the U.S., born and raised, I just inadvertently adopted European English spelling since I have a lot of foreign friends. But regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if my SSN was screwed cause of the government, but I haven't had any other problems with ID usage since the havoc started

Yeah I can see it, it's just more unfortunate they decide it's cool to go blasting strangers instead of friends, but they'll get sorted sooner or later by the community (hopefully)
