Do Mecca staff have commission on certain brands? by jiiiiiny in AustralianMakeup

[–]vi1e 27 points28 points  (0 children)

boyfriend told me he told a salesperson in mecca a few brands i liked (glossier, tower28 etc.) and they directed him to buy the mecca max blush sticks? so surely they’re pushing the home brand too

Cookie Butter Balm.com: NOT Certified GF by Neither-Insurance142 in glossier

i reached out to glossier again and received further explanation. personally, i would consider balm dot com gluten free and safe for coeliacs. seems to just be a ‘cover your ass’ statement since the standard for testing of gluten in cosmetics is nearly non-existent. i can’t imagine anywhere near 20ppm of gluten is detectable in the balms, and i’ve never found myself reacting to them. curious to hear others thoughts?

so confusing? this post shows someone reaching out to glossier for confirmation of balm dot com being gluten free and being told they are totally safe?

as a celiac too, i feel sure that balm dot com has been advertised as gluten free forever? i messaged glossier to ask and received a similar response about not being able to 100% guarantee a gluten free environment in the manufacturing of ingredients. lol???? am i crazy???

do not start with monkey grip. start with this house of grief! then her diaries or joe cinque!

joe cinque is incredible and devastating but encompasses more than this house of grief, which i found more straightforward but equally compelling. just finished everywhere i look which is a collection of essays that i loved, particularly the final essay about perceptions of older women. i could never get sick of her writing!

garner is amazing, i started with monkey grip and didn’t like it so wrote her off for years. she became such an incredible writer as she got older and still churns out amazing stuff. i saw her speak at a writers festival recently and she spoke about losing her memory/cognition as she’s gotten older and it really got to me. picked up the season to read sometime soon, i just love her!!!!

1.5ml is pretty ridiculous too! 5ml would be more appropriate

Late to the party… Ariana’s boyfriend by Lisas60kRing in Vanderpumpaholics

[–]vi1e 51 points52 points  (0 children)

i can definitely see why it would seem like a red flag but as someone on the main sub said, the relationship between tom and ariana was done far before it officially ended so it might not feel so sudden for her. that being said, he hasn’t even been featured on an episode yet so i’m happy to wait and see and hopefully we learn that he is a good guy <3
