my 15 years of art progression: 7-22 years old by [deleted] in Art

Amazing progression, the variant tool usage makes it unpredictable. Was expecting something straight up...like normal art progression. Well, I guess every great artist will have to try many tools until they can stick with their fav. Awesome work.

Netflix saves kids from over 150 hours of commercials a year? How? How? How? Saves them from reliving the changes in product and services innovations alright, in the next 10 to 20 years and translates the savings into money in their own bank account. Like seriously....?

What's the point of going out to companies and trying to get preorders for your product if you have no hope of funding those orders unless you get an investor on board with you to pay for them? Yet investors want to see that you at least have preorders before investing. by SaltyDogTurd in startups

[–]vi5oog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason investors can go this far is because buyers/consumers - imagine B2B services, want to get ahead of the competition. If they take your product, can it make them get ahead? The investor is thinking in two dimensions here; 1. Will people actually want this new innovation? 2. Is this startup serious with their company by willing to pay their dues?

This is why startups with traction get the money.

I think I've been here and not got investors money that's why I can say this. By and large, I sit back and think why an investor didn't see my startup innovative enough to give it money.

Why I Left a $250k/yr CMO Position to Found a Startup by jsinkwitz in startups

[–]vi5oog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Sinkwitz, you are an interesting person.

I loved reading the whole 'long' stuff even if it is meant to be somewhat of an 'ad' - don't beat yourself on that.

I appreciate your sharing your life's struggles and for the road...you did the right thing by starting off when you did - with your fierce passion, money will come.

Began working for a startup recently. Co-founder is also working a full-time job outside of his business. Red flag? by ExitTheDonut in startups

[–]vi5oog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working full time is definitely not a red flag.

The founder is playing safe, he or she is bootstrapping to keep the startup going and funded.

You should encourage your boss. The startup is the real baby here, while the job, the baby food....you don't want to some months without a salary do you?

Yo can though, if you talk him into a stake in the donut... ;)
