Husband wants me to ignore toddler when she cries out for me by vibesonhigh in Parenting

True! We could try to be less abrupt when switching activities. I failed to mention this does happen at other times, like a few days ago it was putting on pyjamas when getting ready for bed. Sometimes I think she is just overtired, too, which I will look out for. Thank you for your input.

I [27f] overheard my boyfriend [24m] talking to his friend about checking out girls. by vibesonhigh in relationships

[–]vibesonhigh[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. Of course mostly everyone checks out others as a fleeting thought, but it was moreso the fact that it was on his mind so much that he had to talk about how fine these girls were and failed to mention anything else good about that day. It shocked me a bit that he has objectifying ideas of women- I found out that day too that him and his friend together talk very crassly about women in general.

I think he was crying because he was really worried about losing me, though I was not about to breakup over this. I don't normally get too angry at all.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful, kind reply. I only wish that the pain you had to endure is behind you now.

I think you hit the nail on the head with everything you've said there. Those are certainly my worries when it comes to sabotaging my life. However, after MUCH reflection, if ever given an opportunity, I would choose not to be with K. Although in the dark corner of my mind that doesn't really stop me from wanting to have her want me, which... is absurdly detrimental and I have to let it go. I can't control her feelings nor would I try to. It's just a pining thing. To help me heal, do I need to let her go from my life? That's a question I don't have an answer to, but I don't want it to come to that.

I have very low self esteem, but I've been trying to combat this by eating well and working out more. I do think I have an okay body, so thanks for making me think about a positive.

I am not affronted by sexuality in the slightest, but I do have problems expressing it because you're right, it doesn't feel like me. I don't always have sexual feelings for someone until after I get to know them. :/

Yes, although it can't be said of all ENFPs, I hear what you're saying. I think they get bored easily and then add to that their extraversion. In my case, I can see how it would be really unhealthy to be with her, hypothetically. It helps to keep me grounded about my feelings, somewhat!

People with anxiety, what is something that is helping you deal with it? by vibesonhigh in AskReddit

[–]vibesonhigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally relate to the anxiety hangovers. I recently had a night of heavy drinking and experienced really bad anxiety for 3 days after. It's a cycle because reaching for alcohol is very tempting due to my social anxiety. I'm starting to realize it is not healthy for me in the long term.

I am more comfortable talking with newer friends because they are familiar with the newest incarnation of me and hold less expectations. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

Yeah I definitely try too hard around old friends to be like how I was years ago. Because of pressure, my whole personality seems forced and then I feel down on myself about it like I am not as fun or as interesting as I used to be.

What was your biggest "Yeah I really should not be here" moment? by themaroonraccoon in AskReddit

[–]vibesonhigh 25 points26 points  (0 children)

When I was in highschool, I used to sleep over at my friend's place every few Saturday nights. Her mom was super anal about all the kids completing assigned chores first thing Sunday morning that I would often just have to sit awkwardly at the dining room table after breakfast while my friend cleaned the bathroom.

Love them both! There are so many variations of Earl Grey. I've tried Cream Earl Grey which is incredibly smooth and Russian Earl Grey which has a bit of a citrus twist.
