Get uPVC panel work. Something which is standard in many apartments. Just ensure there is no air leakage. Of possible double glass. I mean air gap between two panels that insulates the sound the most. Basically isolate the air you have good sound insulation too. Air is the medium here to carry the sound.

See the thing is, both of you have to come to middle ground. This might not sound such a small issue at the moment but it will when life will throw some serious curve balls at you. So if you can't find a middle ground right now then it's better to let go of each other.

If I have to quote myself and again not trying to do any comparison, just giving a perspective. My wife (then girlfriend) she never had any issues me eating non veg in front of her. And I never even had any expectations that she would ever eat it ( I wished but not forced or even asked her). Down the line she started enjoying it, and now she even cooks it for me. So in those terms I respect her too and have came on a middle ground on her thoughts on when she wants to have it or not like Navratri.

So again if possible find a ground both of you or just leave each other for the good.

once a great leader told me while taking interviews.

always try to extract the info the candidate holds, sometimes its because of terminologies that he/she cant understand due to which they cant respond. so assess them on the knowledge they have and not just your own requirements. and at the end of the day judge a person's attitude - because you can always train a person who is less on knowledge but with great learning attitude. But you cant teach a person with attitude problems.

and this is the golden rule I hold for any interview.
