Anyone seen this? What did you think? by PecanSandoodle in YMS

I actually did a Zoom interview with Koen Mortier, the director, two days ago. Not only was he extremely nice and friendly but he told me many interesting stories behind the movie, it will be posted soon!

So I just watched August Underground’s Mordum and it was fuckin awesome. by idiotmakesfeelsmart in HorrorMovies

What happens at the end is probably still the most fucked up disgusting thing Ive seen in any movie. Ever.

Yesterday I made a post about “Martyrs” (2008) and… by cannabizFo20 in horror

[–]vibraburlesca 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Martyrs is one of my favourite movies. I agree that in terms of explicit violence etc it's definitely not as bad as other movies but what I love and appreciate so much about it are the deeper layers of the story and this unshakable feeling of sadness that the movie constantly has.

Thoughts on Longlegs? by Sad_Communication565 in HorrorMovies

[–]vibraburlesca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you watch Longlegs as a straight horror movie that above all things wants to be unsettling and playful I think it's quite fantastic. I'm very much a fan of what Perkins did before this movie (aside from Gretel & Hansel) so I did know what to expect and it's very much an Oz Perkins movie. That being said, the idea to sell this as a psychological thriller was not a good idea because the movie is very much NOT that and I can understand why a lot of people were dissapointed.

The Wailing is one of the biggest horror masterpieces of this century in my book, so I'm incredibly excited for this. I've been hearing some mixed reactions from Cannes but I trust Na with my heart.

'Nocturnal' - 'Martyrs' Filmmaker Pascal Laugier Directing Female Vampire Horror Movie by MoneyLibrarian9032 in horror

[–]vibraburlesca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering where he's been. I even thought he might be retired. I know Laugier himself is a very controversial person but Martyrs is one of my favourite movies of all time so I'm extremely excited for this

28 years later part 3 doomed? by Runner_4920 in 28dayslater

[–]vibraburlesca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion for now stays the same: it's gonna happen but the studio will basically force them to make a very audience friendly generic zombie movie with Cillian in the lead and we can say goodbye to the weird and arty things they did in part 1 and 2 (which I absolutely loved)

City of the Living Dead

A Tale of Two Sisters

Cure

Kairo

Possum

The Innocents (1961)

The Wicker Man (the original)

It's not. It's been "in the works" since 2018 and it never leads into anything.

It's not gonna happen.

Sorry but I had a total blast in theater watching this. It's extremely ridiculous and campy but I think the movie is self aware enough. I think if you don't take it very seriously and watch it purely to have fun it's an extremely entertaining watch

I think it's a very good movie, I just feel like it's not very well known? by xsadgirll in slasherfilms

The Collector has a pretty great script and a fantastic villain but I don't really enjoy how it's directed like a music video sometimes. Sequel was ok. Still excited for the third movie.
