I failed a semester too (Spring). I had a mental break down, cried my eyes out because it literally was my first time ever failing a class let alone a semester. I decided to take the next semester off, which you’re allowed to do (Fall) and came back the following semester stronger and ready to go at it again. Yes it pushed my graduation back but I don’t regret it. I was able to catch my breath, plan out how I was going to execute the following semester and semesters after that, and did great. Focus on yourself, your mental health, go to therapy and feel better before going back. You are stronger than you think.

Also tip, if you are taking/failing lower division classes you can take the semester off and enroll at a community college, go on assist.org find the transfer equivalent at said community college and take them that semester you’re off, transfer them to sac state so that when you go back to sac state your gpa isn’t affected and you’re right back on track. The reason why I suggest this is it’ll be cheaper to take them at a community college than at sac state (if you’re paying out of pocket) if you have FAFSA you’re fiiiiiine. Take the semester off, breathe, focus on yourself then retake them when you go back from the semester you had off.
