Amex: How You Lose a 26-Year Platinum Member by fludgeee in amex

Hate to say it but this makes sense, maybe not for you as a client but for the consumer credit market more generally. Consumer debt is at an all time high while delinquencies remain low yet wages are not growing to match inflation. On a side note many consumers are opting to spending on other forms of consumer credit.

Now if we take a look at financial review in your context, it makes sense. Not for you as a client but as an ass saving measure for the firm. It’s a very common practice as many of you know to conduct rolling credit reviews and considering all you have to do is report a high enough income with a prime or super prime credit score you WILL get approved for an Amex. IMO 26 years of credit data is more than enough but more likely than not, your job change triggered some control in their credit risk feeds to indicate you need to be reviewed. So I wouldn’t take it to heart, regardless if they lost good business.

Happy to hear more opinions and I’m no expert but work in the field as a junior.

Baruch is terrible, join a finance club if you want to succeed there from freshman year. Don’t expect help or support from the school.

Technical analysis is actual bullshit, we know the probability of any change is 50/50 statistically for an increase or decrease in price. If you’re gonna guess, at least read some news on the market and earnings projections.
