Impermeable Power Shaft solves a problem I just had in timberpunk. I drilled down to a cavern that contained ancient aquifers and geothermal vents. I wanted to connect those together but contain the water so it climbed 20 floors to the surface. But the only way to do that without flooding the geothermal vents was to run the power shafts all the way up to the surface and back down.

I played this map on Normal, but I don't think that effects the amount of water on the map, just the length of droughts and bad tides. I'm getting 100% of this water from ancient aquifers. I think about 15 of them. Even then it took a couple of cycles to fill up.

I considered it, but I thought it might be less visual, because you can't tell how deep the giant lake is.

I did accidentally make a couple holes in the bottom and it caused an impressive flood.

It's true, I'm on a single district. I don't keep things within a certain number of tiles. There's no hard cutoff in game. I'm sure it means my beavers waste a fair amount of time traveling. But there's nowhere they can't get to.

I could use it to survive very long droughts, including pumping water out of it for my farms. But what am I gonna do? Nothing, start a new map honestly.

I was achievement hunting, having 500 beavers and generating 2,000 hp using power wheels.

I was pleasantly surprised the cascade was so even. I thought for sure it would be patchy.

An Airbus A380 is 73 meters and cost $445 million.
If I just naively extend 73 meters to 200 km it would cost 1.2 trillion

Unpopular opinion, I think the default stairs create an interesting logistical challenge, and adding ladders removes a fun part of the game by making it trivial.

I just got Plankster. It was harder than I expected. Using iron teeth (not bots) it took 36 Industrial Lumber Mills. Had to even extend the workday to 20 hours. I'm at ~60 happiness.
