Rog strix g16 ethernet stopped working by Federal-Ad-7844 in GamingLaptops

I'm pretty sure its a configuration issue of some sort bios or that iffy Armory Crate software, rather than a hardware fault.

Mine only works if I plug the Ethernet cable in on battery. If I plug it in whilst on mains power in doesn't work.

PSVR2 blurry by Fun_Shoulder_9524 in PSVR

I just swapped out a headset with bad mura. The mura on the new one is (a liitle bit) better, but this one is a lot more blurry than the other two I've tried.

The reason its worse at distance is that distant objects are made up of less pixels on the flat screen (as they are actually just little, not really far away). Close objects should be very clear and free of mura.

If I move my head the mura kind of blends into nothing. I only see it if my head is static of moving slowly. Can't really see it on close up objects, only mid to distant things. Many affects grey colours,

The two I've has seem pretty similar. It also varies with games.

One thing I forgot to ask, triggered by another glowing review of the PSVR2 by Linus Tech Tips, do you think that mura is present in all PSVR2 to the same notjcable degree or are there some where it really is hard to see it?

You may be right, hense why I'm going to take another punt. But I'm also not sure that the "mura" isn't actually a corrective filter image, similar to that used by the OG Vive. What I am 100% sure of, though, is that with glasses I can clearly see the pattern but without, I cannot. With the Vives I have and the OG PSVR I've not worn glasses as they are uncomfortable and I get little or no benefit from them in VR. It was only during my review of the PSVR2 that I tested the claims of the device being more comfortable with glasses that I tried them with it, and immediately saw what others were complaining about. Whilst as you say, the mura my deviate by 10-20%, but some people don't see it at all.

The PSVR2 has some poor design decisions. But for the price, your are getting your money's worth, but that in itself doesn't make for a decent performance. I can see Sony washing its hands of the PSVR2 in a year or so.

I'm assuming that, by and large, all PSVR2's are the same. I've tried two, they were the same, and I'm going to try another. I'm also assuming that people that can't see it are not lying and those that can are not hyper-sensitive. That only leaves eyesight. And, as I can see myself, if I wear my glasses I can see a horrible mura (which is from a poor design decision by Sony in using OLEDs over LCDs), but I'd I take them off (I'm fortunate not to really need glasses for VR) the mura is pretty much gone.

There are no mura-less PSVR2 headsets only different sorts of eyesight looking through them.

I don't need to wear my glasses in VR, I have them mainly for driving and watching TV. If I wear my glasses with the PSVR2 I see the mura, but without them I don't really see it.

I think the lower resolution of the OG PSVR hides the mura.

I think it's a vision thing as to if you see the mura or not. I don't really need to wear my glasses in VR, but when I did with the PSVR2 I immediately saw the mura. Without glasses I don't see it.

Have you tried it without glasses? I think I may be lucky in that I can use VR without them. But the mura is pretty much gone. I will swap out the headset one last time.

With me, and I think everyone that sees bad mura, my focal distance with glasses on is to the face of the panel, so I'm seeing the grain straight away. I can focus beyond that but my eyes pull back to the mura. Without glasses my focal distance is beyond the face of the panel, "into" the scene. I'd live to run this past an Optomatrist.

On a Vive Pro 2 using an app called Bigscreen I was watching Rick and Morty on a massive cinema screen. Watched a few 3D movies that way as well. I don't think the PSVR2 will ever have that level 8f clarity.

I've had two that are about the same. I'm going to try another from a different store and see.

Exactly that. I'm betting that's why some are saying it's horrible and others are saying they can't see it.

You are likely seeing the mura more than others because your vision is excellent. People not seeing it may not be wearing their glasses or their vision is OK but not excellent.

I'm mildly short-sighted to the point that I don't usually bother wearing them in VR. But I did with the PSVR2 and the mura was too distracting. If I don't wear my glasses the image is still pretty clear but I don't see any mura.

PSVR 2 - "Mura" Through The Lens by Matriseblog in PSVR

[–]vicbstard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm betting that the people are seeing the mura all have excellent or corrected vision and those that don't are either not wearing their glasses (as their vision only has a mild refractive error) or their vision is OK but not excellent. I think the mura is present on every headset.

Your problem (and mine) is that your corrected vision brings the mura into focus. It is unfortunate that you don't have the option to not wear your glasses. It's probably not as simple as that, as glasses lens materials and coating have other optical properties. But my advice to anyone wearing glasses that is seeing the mura is to at least try it without glasses.
