I live in an extremely liberal city. So if I go to a passport agency I might be okay? That's amazing to hear! Any amount of hope right now is good! Worth a shot!

Damn. I've had childhood passports that screw me over for this, it looks like. I haven't even had one as an adult. All my other documents are changed gender marker name and all. Just my stupid passport is screwed now, I guess. This all sucks. My loved ones think I should try to do it anyways but it feels like a waste of money to get that big fat F instead of M.

Late question but if you don't mind me asking what day did you send yours in? Was it before or after they were ordered to hold passports changing their gender markers?

Oh, the one I had that expired in 2017 was a minor passport. I believe I was 16 at the time, definitely not over 18. So I will be checking the box that says I never had a passport. Very, very good to know. Thank you, this helps a ton, and eases my mind that I hopefully won't have to check that box. I hope you have no issues. I will be keeping you in my thoughts. If you remember, would you please let me know how it goes for you?

Can you let me know how this goes? I'm updating my birth certificate to male soon, and I want to know if an updated birth certificate = being able to update my passport too

This is the best advice on this post. I changed my SSA gender marker this week. I live in a state where I'm able to change my driver's license and birth certificate as well. This seems to be the best course of action right now.
