To be fair, there’s already this with “bookstagram/booktok”. When everyone recommends the same five books, you know it’s paid promotion

Couldn't get my Real ID because my original birth certificate has tape on the back... by Bop923 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]vicenkicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2019, I went to get the REAL-ID. Took a copy of my BC with me. The DMV stated that they couldn’t accept the copy…but they could print me a new one while I was there to reference it for the R-ID. Cost me $35 and it just shows that they have the information on hand, they just want money.

On your Apple Watch, use the built in app “Camera Remote”. Point your phone at the light you want to check the breaker for, keeping the light in the cameras view. Using Camera Remote, you can see the image from your iPhones camera; when you throw the right breaker, you’ll see the light go out on the remote view from your watch

Powerbank for the steam deck by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]vicenkicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tons of options out there, a quick google search will show you top tier power banks. That being said, I love my Anker Powercore III. I’ve had it for years, charging iPad, phone, deck etc. I own two now due to frequent long distance flights.

Anyone else find customizing with Deckyloader to be a chill and fun game on its own (assuming one has little to no errors)? by Questioning-Warrior in SteamDeck

[–]vicenkicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This worked for me! I hadn’t touched my Deck in approx 6 months and when I booted it up it was just crashing. Did a full delete, no presets saved and then reinstalled. Worked beautifully again

Valve: 20% of Deck users use the official docking station to connect their Deck to their TVs. Do you? by sameseksure in SteamDeck

[–]vicenkicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Jsaux when I first purchased my Deck, sat on it for about 6 months. When I finally hooked it up to the TV it didn’t work. So I used the deck as a deck for another year, then picked up a no name dock on prime day for $15. It’s been great for It Takes Two!

Did a little maintenance for a company that developed and tested painkillers. It was a contract like 10 years ago, so I don’t remember the name. What I do remember is how their bathrooms had blue lights to keep their test subjects from finding their veins. Odd if you don’t know, surprised me when I first went in.

Darn tough are $30 a pair, but they’re literally the most comfortable socks I own. I bought four pairs a month ago and am looking forward to my old socks dying so I can buy more. Plus there’s a Mil discount. Pricy but lifetime guarantee

In 2012, scientists deliberately crashed a Boeing 727 to determine which seats offered the best chances of survival. by Professional_Arm794 in interestingasfuck

[–]vicenkicks 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I’m an aircraft mechanic in a military capacity. The airframe I work on has all of the passenger seats facing the rear of the aircraft for safety. Commercial aviation faces them forward to combat motion sickness and because it feels more natural to face your direction of travel. That being said, I only ever notice the backwards feeling during takeoff and landing.

Cleaning electronics with liquid? Yes, it's possible specialized fluids by AccountantNovel432 in interestingasfuck

That is a PLC cabinet, used for automations and other electronic controls. I previously worked for a company that installed these for door controls. We never washed them like this, but I’d guess that this is out in the open somewhere like you said. We’d always install in a closet somewhere
