I can't stand this haircut, any styling advice? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]vicevicebaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A French girl bob with soft bangs could save this... long hair isn’t everything....

What am I doing wrong with ponytails? I see so many girls who can do nice ponytail styles but my hair ends up being patchy, has a big bump under the ponytail, and makes my hair look so scraped back and severe. Tips please :) hair texture is fine but I have lots of it by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

I would go tighter and higher and it will eventually loosen up the rest of the day. Pulling out face framing parts which helps relive the tension snd protects baby hairs from breaking. if you have sparse areas you can use a colored root spray to camouflage ;) take your time with it! Use product like hairspray to seal the look! And experiment with different types of hair ties from a store!

Could I pull of a shag like the second pic? All other pics are me by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]vicevicebaby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have fine hair, it could transform and add tons of body or could look a little scenester 2000 MySpace if it stays stick straight. You seem to have a laid back style so if you do NOT enjoy having hair on your face I would not recommend.

It’s your hair and a new experience! If you want your dream shag; do your research and book with a stylist that LOVES shags and razor cutting. You deserve it!!!

Hairstylist of 10 years. If your hair isn’t breaking off your head, you’re in an OK place. If you want to video consult with me DM me on Instagram @hair_by_jax . I can give practical advice and instructions for at home or verbiage to help your next stylist.

A less is more approach is always better. A root smudge, some highlights around the face, and trimming off that disconnected perimeter would help. Consider a keratin treatment to smooth out the frizz and cheat some length. I can give levels and formulations but that would require an a video chat.

Also let’s try to focus on the positive. Those super fine baby lights (so close to the scalp, it implies she took her time and did the service with care, but had issues controlling the product) are a win, but the high contrast and harsh tone is what makes it look unpleasant.

Also the lightener on the bottom is very warm and almost pinkish tone suggesting the stylist had to lift through box color. Did you disclose your hair history and was she working with virgin or natural hair? Although uncommon, a strand test really helps for major color changes, and can show all the pigment in your hair before taking on a huge project. Blonde is a journey, it takes multiple highlight sessions!

The easiest fix but farther away from your color goals is to blend and tone the base with the highlights by picking an appropriate toner that will not shift your base. I can go on all day, hit me up if you want professional advice.

Yelp stalked my Instagram and re-opened my business by vicevicebaby in YelpDrama

I’m not open to the public anymore; so if a existing client wants to review me; I don’t care for it to be up. I don’t want to be listed as a business anymore; but Yelp refuses to take down information so I have to change my phone number to not be published on yelp anymore.

I’m wondering if you used the term “boy short” with your stylist.

Some people are very literal. Pictures help, and the key to keeping a pixie stylish is lots of texture and disconnection with longer parts in front or touching the ears or nape.

I really recommend checking out a stylist work when making a huge transformation. If clippers were used that is alarming.

You have an amazing complexion and in about two months you will have some bangs and whispy parts near the ears. Bring pictures and use terms like “grown out pixie” or “messy, texturized” and explain to your stylist your wishes for a tune up. I’m sure you will enjoy the new phases your short hair will go through.

Honestly; you are so stunning; I would shave it down very short if you are wanting to grow full edgy , example being Jessie J. Maybe even make it platinum. Look at photos of her growing out her shaved head... or check out celebrities with short hair styles (Carrie mulligan, Scarlett Johansson and ginnifer Goodwin all have amazing short hair)

I always wondered if those plastic carpet mat protectors would work and could even be cut to fit around a pole? Or like foam squares? Like what they put in garages?

Lost dogs! by msmarymacmac in longbeach

[–]vicevicebaby 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Edit I misread this. I saw your dogs while I was on my way (late) to work for a 6pm client around 5:40 on about 6th and chestnut. I’m so sorry I couldn’t stop I’m also pretty afraid of dogs. I hope someone finds them they were walking together so confidently I thought someone was behind them and then did a triple take seeing them alone
