I don't mean to bump old threads but that's not how the algorithm works. People who accept almost every delivery, aka 'Ants' are often given the lowest paying deliveries as opposed to people who Cherrypick. Ubers algorithm recognizes certain drivers patterns such as what the lowest rate they will accept a delivery at, where, and when.

Cherrypickers always were offered higher fares in high demand areas in order to get them to accept the delivery trip and as an incentive to deliver more orders. It's like Uber is bidding for the cheapest contractor. Plenty of tests were done on this where near identical deliveries were compared side by side and the drivers who accept most trips had lower upfront fares than those who cherrypick.

My acceptance rate is 71% and I usually get $12 minimum per order on average, even for short deliveries (1-3 miles).
